Another option is to use the MagSafe Battery pack with the 13 mini. That‘s my plan for the times when the 13 mini battery alone won‘t last me the entire day (which will only be the case on vacation when using the iPhone for navigation, hike tracking and photos, cause on normal working days I still have 40-50% charge left in the evening).
This guy tested that out a bit:
Of course the mini with the battery pack weighs a little more than the 14 PM, but you can remove it as soon as it‘s empty an profit from the significantly lighter phone.
That would be an option, albeit an annoyance. I have managed to get through the day just fine on my S21 as my primary and my 7+ as mainly a banking phone without having to take a power bank around. I'm planning to switch to iphone as my primary driver if I upgrade, thus I know battery life becomes an important factor. Having to carry power bank around is annoying and kinda defeats the intention of getting a mini 😅

Well, I still have time since the 14 series have not launched in my country yet. Worse come to worse, I'll be looking at the plain 13.

Talk about first cell phones. Mine was a bag phone stolen out of my car. So I got this handheld with extra battery. Could only make calls and had a whopping 40 number memory. Turns out, it weighed 500g. Not a fair comparison in this discussion as the web wasn't browser based at the time. Could hook it up to a computer for dial up access to usenets though.

Haha, I wish I had kept my old Sprint Spectrum phone so I could weigh it. The coverage was bad…I used to joke that if someone tried to carjack me I couldn't use it to call for help but hopefully I could use it to club the attacker

I initially bought the 14 because the Pro wasn't in stock, I used it for 10 days and then changed to pro in apple store. Tbh, the weight on the normal 14 is nicer, and I kind of enjoyed it. The color options are better too in my opinion. I really liked the product red color. The 14 Pro just feels quite bulky.

For me the base 14 is enough by all metrics, but the reason why I switched to the pro is mainly future proofing, I usually keep my phones for at least 4 years, I had my 7plus for 6 years and now switched away from it as it was getting too laggy. The price difference between the 14 and 14 pro makes it kind of hard to go for the base model imo, which is maybe their plan

The dynamic island is a nice touch but I don't personally care about it too much and would be fine with the notch. It's kind of all the same to me. But we don't know how big it will be in the future, or whether Apple will discard it in few years so I rather played it safe.

The 120Hz display on the pro is nice and imo it should be on the normal 14 too..

If the next year normal iPhone 15 has 120hz display and dynamic island, I think it would be really great phone

I was worried about the 14 Pro Max weight, coming from a X. Got used to it quickly enough.

It's really not a big deal after a few days.

And I'm sure most anyone could curl iPhones all day long, but it's the wrist and fingers that take the brunt
If your wrists and fingers can't handle holding a phone, they must be incredibly weak and need some exercise. I'd recommend something like this...

That's my worry in deciding to get the 13 mini or not. I have been spoiled so much with Android and their huge batteries that I'm getting anxious just deciding whether to get the mini or the regular iphone. Would really love the mini size, but if it couldn't keep up battery wise, it will be a dealbreaker, and unlike the US, we have no return policies here.
I had a 13 mini and the battery is very poor.

I would take off charge at around 8:30am and by 1pm it’s <50% (few hours use).

By contrast my iPhone 14+ is still on >50% at the END of the day. I can easily get 2 full days without charging.

I went with the standard model for my pervious phone only because I wanted the product(red). I wish they made more of their products in red. Like the pink iMac -- the red backing looks awesome! I would buy a homepod in red right now lol

Wow. I really was interested with the Plus, but I just cannot be comfortable with anything over 200g. It’s unfortunate that Apple has to cross the 200g weight on the Plus.

I think that next year's pro max - or ultra - as 'max' seems to be on the way out, will be in titanium, as its lighter.

They probably haven't used it yet, as it's more expensive than steel, but I suspect that this year has proved that there's not much price sensitivity when you get to the pro models - i.e. people will buy it.

According to the relevant data, most people bought iPhone 14 Pro this year, not iPhone 14. The hardware update of iPhone 14 is not very attractive.

Whoa - you do know there is very little metal on the pro line, right? Weight comes from the glass. It's shocking to me how many people are complaining about the weight. It's nothing really. Says to me too many people don't do much manual labor - work out with weights - etc. And by manual labor I mean basic life activities.

Two family members went with regular 13s last year instead of pro phones because of weight. For whatever reason the 12/13/14pro design feels heavier in the hand even though its not technically that much heavier.

Never owned a pro :)

Coming from a 12 Pro to 14 Plus = huge jump in battery life, screen brightness, SOS emergency, crash detection, and very responsive apps.
