You're doing well. MY Ultra 2 is down to 87%. Is this eligible for battery replacement under AppleCare+?I have an AWU1 and I’m not completely sold on AWU3. If my battery health wasn’t at 86%, I wouldn’t even be considering it.
80% or less for battery replacementYou're doing well. MY Ultra 2 is down to 87%. Is this eligible for battery replacement under AppleCare+?
U3 is thinner than U2. By 2.4mm. Might not be much to some, but on a wearable it could be noticeable and welcome
I think the apple spec page has an error.
IF the Ultra 3 were indeed thinner, we would have heard about it as it would mean a different casing. Going from 14.4 to 12 is significant, hence they'd talk about it.
There have been mistakes on the spec page at launch in the past ...
They changed the thickness of the older Ultras on the comparison page to 12 mm as well … probably now measuring without the sensor bump? In any case, U3 is still exactly as thick as U2 and U1.
Still unchanged on Australian apple comparison page. Ultra 2 is still showing 14.4 mm. Vs Ultra 3 at 12 mm
That's incorrect, all my bands from the U1 titanium fit my U2 blackI cancelled and switched it to Natural Titanium after finding out that the bands hardware is different between black and natural
Is it incorrect ? ….. I’m not sure the OP said the hardware didnt fit. The hardware is different …. A different colour !That's incorrect, all my bands from the U1 titanium fit my U2 black
The processor is updated on the ultra. The Ultra 2 didn't get an update processor last year but the series watch did.Yeah, all my U1 bands fit my U2 (2 years old). I expect them to work on the U3 coming next week.
I don't think the upgrade is huge however for me - the extra battery life and the satellite SOS is nice for me.
I asked an LLM to summarize in simple English the differences:
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 has these only differences from the Ultra 2:
Larger display. Higher resolution. Brighter screen. Shows ticking seconds when always on.
Better battery. Up to 42 hours normal use. Up to 72 hours low power.
5G cellular. Satellite messaging for emergencies.
Same size. Same processor. Same price.
I was referring to hardware color. Bands size is the same. That's incorrect, all my bands from the U1 titanium fit my U2 black
When initially setting up to buy the Ultra 3 I went black ... then realized every single one of my bands has the silver attachments and it would be a bit jarring. My wife ( who is buying this for me for my birthday ) said that I'm too pale and it would be too much of a contrast so ... cancelled and natural it is. Looks like we may have done the same thing, albeit with different influences, lol.I was referring to hardware color. Bands size is the same.
IF I were buying it would be black, even though my 5 Ocean bands that I have have the natural Ti hardware, I wouldn't care, but that is just me ...When initially setting up to buy the Ultra 3 I went black ... then realized every single one of my bands has the silver attachments and it would be a bit jarring.
