Anyone who owns AWU2 upgrading to AWU3?

Did any one else notice that the Ultra 3 has less battery life for low power mode (with full GPS and heart rate sampling)? The ultra 2 had 17 hours and now the Ultra 3 is showing 14 hours. I have read that it should be 20 hours however that is not what Apples product page shows. Maybe this is a misprint?
You're doing well. MY Ultra 2 is down to 87%. Is this eligible for battery replacement under AppleCare+?
My ultra 1 is at 86% health; I’m tempted by the upgrade for battery life, not much else. I wish they let you buy the watch without a band - I have a Milanese loop and a trail loop and don’t need another strap (though the green ocean band is cool).
They changed the thickness of the older Ultras on the comparison page to 12 mm as well … probably now measuring without the sensor bump? In any case, U3 is still exactly as thick as U2 and U1.
Still unchanged on Australian apple comparison page. Ultra 2 is still showing 14.4 mm. Vs Ultra 3 at 12 mm

Yeah, that’s weird. But in hands-on pictures etc. it is very obvious that the Ultra didn‘t get thinner. Also, they would absolutely have mentioned/touted this in the Keynote if Ultra got thinner.
Is it incorrect ? ….. I’m not sure the OP said the hardware didnt fit. The hardware is different …. A different colour !
Yeah, all my U1 bands fit my U2 (2 years old). I expect them to work on the U3 coming next week.
I don't think the upgrade is huge however for me - the extra battery life and the satellite SOS is nice for me.

The processor is updated on the ultra. The Ultra 2 didn't get an update processor last year but the series watch did.
When initially setting up to buy the Ultra 3 I went black ... then realized every single one of my bands has the silver attachments and it would be a bit jarring. My wife ( who is buying this for me for my birthday ) said that I'm too pale and it would be too much of a contrast so ... cancelled and natural it is. Looks like we may have done the same thing, albeit with different influences, lol.
IF I were buying it would be black, even though my 5 Ocean bands that I have have the natural Ti hardware, I wouldn't care, but that is just me ...
Anyone know if there has actually been an increase in size of the Ultra 3? Ive seen on some videos that Apple could just be stating 42 hrs to match what people were actually getting with the Ultra 2. So to say, matching the specification with what people were getting in reality. Or that the 42 hrs is in relation to 5G using less battery.
Im hoping for an actual increase in mAh.
If theres no change, I will just keep my 2023 U2 and get a new Ocean band.

Yeah, Im worried about that. I guess we should find out within the next few weeks whether its been increased in size or not.
The tracking info is now visible in my UPS app. Looks like it’s shipping from Clayton, IN. Of course, I’m not expecting it until next Friday!
My AWU2 with onboard Spo2 sensor has 96% battery life still.. AND it looks basically brand new. I can’t see a reason to upgrade.. don’t need wide angle screen visibility, don’t need 1hz refresh as I don’t use AOD regardless.. I don’t need any satellite connecitivyt since well i always have my phone (14 plus, now 16 plus since yesterday!) if i need to make emergency calls in the wild. I had really hoped to see even better battery life, SOC optimization, radios optimization and possibly a new sensor with some additional features. (Never really holding out for Glucose monitoring).. I think next year will probably be the upgrade I’m looking for and maybe we’ll get onboard Spo2 again.
There is not enough difference between the two models for me to consider it. I still have 100% battery life on my U2 and its in great shape.
