Anyone with Best Buy Preorder Reports?

Just got mine. 4th person. Was getting tired of
trying to order from Apple.

All stores are getting a certain number in, no matter the number of preorders. That said, the $50 is more or less a reserve from that number.

I'm sure each store is guaranteed "x" amount of units from Apple and BB will take preorders based on that number. That said, I would not be surprised if they take in more preorders than they have guaranteed units. Thats why I will still be lined up the day BB opens the 24th to make sure I don't get jerked.

I'm just wondering if Apple & AT&T are not offering the white iPhone 4 until later this summer what would make people think 3rd party retailers are goin goin to offer them on the 24th. I mean that's just common sense to me.

I am doing the same thing for the white iPhone. Have no clue when I'll get it but at least my name is on the first white one here. I'll wait for it, I don't care. I just want my name on one. Still waiting or the store to open!!!

Best Buy will sell your reserved phone to any schmoe that's willing to buy a bunch of accessories warranties with it.

If APPLE is not selling the white, theres a reason. BestBuy wants to snag as many preorders as possible, regardless if they get the white next week or not. which there is no way they get the white before apple. i mean cmon.

Wasn't this already discussed with the whole RadioShack thing? It was even on the front page of MacRumors that RadioShack and Best Buy should not be taking money nor orders until they are told so. It said that they should be let to later this week.

I would not be surprised if you all get screwed like the people who pre-ordered from RadioShack did.

whatever... maybe your store did this, but with this launch there will be an appointment set for you to come in and your phone will be held with your name attatched to it. If you miss your appointment they will hold it for 48 hours before it is available for normal purchase.

I got back from BestBuy after 4 hours of frustration on the Apple site. I was number 2 on the pre-orders so I am in good shape. Can't wait for next week.

Probably the most comforting fact to BB preorderers. There are far too many unscrupulous managers that force their employees to lie to customers (telling them they're out of stock of video game systems because the customer isn't buying any accessories, etc).

I read that they should not be taking money and such. It was in the RadioShack thread that I even talked about it, and then the original poster said that RadioShack called her (after it was announced) to come back and get her money back.

Regardless, someone forgot to tell Best Buy that white iPhones are no more for now.

What makes you think that they're not allowed to take preorders? They're getting stock on release day. Wal-Mart, Best Buy, and Radio Shack are all selling on release day.

No one here has said that Best Buy will have white ones on release day. The fact is, there is no official word on white. Could be available tomorrow for all we know. Some of us are willing to wait, no matter if it's late summer or release day.

They will call me days before the 24th to set up an appt. date.
