Anyone with Best Buy Preorder Reports?

It really does seem like one of the best options right now. I was the first preorder this morning so as long as my store gets 1 white 32gig then i will be ok. Sorry everyone else... 
I would guess like someone else said there is just going to be low supplies of white so they are not going to do preorders for them.. at least thats what I am hoping
Also for whoever said that Best Buy has no chance of getting them before AT&T I wouldn't be so sure. SJ has made it clear that he is not 100% happy with att and Best Buy has been getting the good end of things with being the only other retailer offering iPads at launch and stuff so it is very possible that white may get to BB before AT&T

I was the first one in to pre-order. Placed an order for the 32GB black. They didn't set up an appointment though, they said to print legibly b/c they would call to set up an appointment. I was the first one there so I better get an f'n appointment on the 24th.
I didn't get an appointment either, but the guy assured me I was first in line to be called for one.
JUST got back from Best Buy (Culver City-Westfield Mall).
I ended up sleeping in, and getting up around 0600. I only tried the blasted ATT and Apple. com site for a couple of hours (admittedly, I do not have as much patience as many of you on here).
Got tired of the endless nonsense from ATT. Called them a couple of times and then even their PHONE SYSTEM crashed. LOL
Got in my car and drove to Best Buy. Got there around 1000. No waiting. The very nice young man ordered the black 32GB for me...and told me that I was 6th to preorder...but only 3rd for the black 32GB. As long as they get SOME, I am good to go! This is one of their bigger, higher traffic stores, so I am thinking that they will get a good size allocation.
In and out in 10 minutes, and along the way had a very nice conversation with the customer behind me who was purchasing an iPhone for his kid, and one for his wife. I shared with him some of the things I had read on here regarding accessories, colors, etc.
All in all, a VERY nice experience...and MUCH nicer than dealing with the "cluster-you-know-what" with ATT (and by extension, Apple) today...

For those looking for the white one, their official line is "Well nothing has been confirmed by Apple yet..." as they continue to offer the white one to pre-order customers.
I picked up last years iPhone 3Gs from this same Best Buy and the experience was just as painless.

The more and more I read, BB seems like the way to go. I might have to stop by after this class is done and pre-order. I've been thinking I'm either going to just wait in line at AT&T on launch or try to snag one from Walmart or BB (I won't be home during the time FedEx comes around). My city has three 24-hour Walmarts, 2 iPhone selling AT&Ts, a BB and Radioshack... but not an Apple store within 120 miles. With a population of less than 90,000, lines are never like the ones you see in big cities (and that is why I don't mind waiting in a line). I just want my phone on the 24th!

Went to BB this am and there were 4 people in line. They never checked upgradeability, but I already knew I was good for two lines. Ordered a black one and a white one (I know white isn't available yet, but they asked, so what the hay...) Took $50 for each and gave me a $50 gift card for each. They will call when it is ready to pick up. As I was finishing up a supervisor came over and said don't take pre-orders for the white ones, but I was already done...

Unless something happens in between now and the 24th...I don't think they'll have that white phone waiting for you!

Just got back from the San Diego store (Mira Mesa) and preordered a White 32GB with no fuss.
When I asked if I was guaranteed an in-store pick up on 6-24, he said yes so as long as they have enough and that it shouldn't be a problem because I was only the 7th to preorder so far.
So whatever, if it happens, fantastic. If not, it took but 10 minutes of my time with only a $50 fee to reserve which is refundable.

I already pre-ordered mine this morning, but I just went back with my girlfriend to pre-order hers and our Best Buy has finally gotten word that they won't be getting the white ones (no ****, we could've told them that).
So they are no longer letting people pre-order the white one. This is my Best Buy though, so I suppose everybody else could be getting different results.

Yes, thank you. We're aware of no white iPhones currently available. And still, there's no official date/time. September is a good a guess as any... there's no official word.

Hahahaha! Most of us on here are preordering white and willing to wait for them. And the rest have complete guarantee of their $50 refund. No harm!
I'm from Columbia as well! Did you end up pre-ordering at BB? If so, how many people were in front of you and what are they saying about when we'll get it, etc.?

Your Best Buy will give you your $50 deposit(s) back if you cancel or don't get the white one? If you checked that and it's true you're very lucky.
Two Best Buys here will NOT give the deposit back, as it's on a Gift Card and can be used for any other products in the store. You're stuck with $50 giftcards. No money back. That's what made me turn away.
I'll wait to hear from Apple. I just hope they say something fast because the more time that passes the more despicable this is. They need to say something.

They would not take my white order and I was #20 on their sheet. No one in line. The manager just said they are taking orders for the black ones to be there on the 24th. AT&T told BB the white would not be out until Sept. I am going to order from apple like I did last year.
I see, thanks! I have no interest in the white model, and I'm just trying to figure out if BB or AT&T is going to be the easiest way to get my phone on the 24th. I guess I'll stop by BB on my way home and see how many people are on the list and what not.

I'm the same way when it comes to waiting for exactly what I want...i.e. I am waiting for the 2nd gen iPad.
...This is a win-win for you, because even if you get to the point that you don't want to wait, you can either get a refund of the gift card, or use it on a purchase. (Best Buy gift cards in MY house are as good as cash...and don't last long.
This may be overkill but screw it, I did it anyways.
I did the $50 pre-order at Best Buy but I also did a Reservation (not a Pre-Order) at the Apple Store via the Apple Store App JUST to hedge my bets.
I figure in a worst case scenario if Best Buy doesn't come through, I'm good to go to pick one up from the Apple Store. I just got my email confirmation from the Apple Store saying my reservation is in place for the 24th and the store opens at 7am.
