Thats rubbish what they are telling you there. As soon as you get the Apple shipping notification email, you can go to the UPS website and track by Parcel reference (2nd Option down)http://www.ups.com/WebTracking/track?loc=en_GB&WT.svl=PNRO_L1. Put the delivery reference number from the apple email in there and hey presto! What i then do is save the UPS tracking number at the top and search every 5 mins haha! Like we all do.
You can also get this from the Apple store Order Status page too.
