I was wondering how long that usually takes. This is the first time I’m pre ordering a iPhone at launch.

I do not have an answer to your question, but good luck. Since it is your first time pre ordering, I hope you get it on launch day.

Just out of curiosity, which did you get?

I got a 256gb space grey iPhone 11 pro. My delivery date is 9/20. Seems like the space grey was the least popular this year. I’ve been seeing that the silver already had pushed back dates 1-2 min into launch.

My card just got charged but still just order placed for the status.
Actually it hit my card twice for some reason. Two pending charges for now. I don’t think I’ve ever ordered through the app before. Is that normal?

Usually starts preparing to ship a couple of days before release. For some folk, it doesn't change to preparing to ship until the day before. But if that happens to you, don't worry. If your delivery date states you'll get it on the 20th, you'll get it on the 20th

My card was charged immediately with Sprint but I don’t think I’ll see anything until late Sunday or Monday night
My Apple card was just charged, so things are moving haha
That charge will fall through. Its just to check if your payment method is functional.

If you’re upgrading through iUP, you get charged twice. Once for taxes and once for the first month. It says it right in the email you got.

“*The initial amount due will be charged to your credit or debit card as two separate transactions. 1) Any applicable shipping costs and sales tax will be paid to Apple. Sales tax will be calculated based on the full price of the iPhone and on any other items in your order. 2) Your first monthly installment will be paid to Citizens One. After that, your credit or debit card will be charged every month by Citizens One. The payment summary does not reflect any changes to your order or payments made against your loan. Please contact Citizens One to confirm your loan balance.

My Chase credit card has the exact amount pending for my iPhone 11. A bit relieved because I wasn’t 100% sure it would work since my billing address isn’t in the US. I paid via Apple Pay on the app.

Full amount pending on my CC, still says "order placed", it did change to "processing" for a bit earlier with the option to cancel though, weird.

Generally what you should keep an eye out for is, when your credit card gets charged. That is the first sign things are moving!
If you do In Store Pickup, will it still get charged early or not until you complete the transaction in store?

Oddly.... the posts I'm seeing are the silver were pushed back almost immediately!? I expected that of the green but not silver!?

I got the initial charge on amex that is pending.... Still waiting for the same from my case and watch band I ordered....

I’ll say it now to spare some of the 1st time pre-order people some anxiety.

If you have a 9/20 release date for Apple your phone will arrive on 9/20. You may/may not get an update to your status, but you will get your phone on 9/20. I remember a few years ago never getting any update and phone arrived on release day. Happens every year.

Mine is.

Money is out of my account and I received the confirmation showing delivery by 09/19 but status is still pending

I agree, one additional thought, you may not see the, “preparing to ship,” notice until next week. And even then nothing may happen until awhile later. I’ve been down this road more than once and I believe that when you get those notices seems to depend how far your phone has to be shipped. The days of the phones being shipped from the factory to you are gone. Right now there are various piles of iPhones stock piled in locations around the US. Your iPhone will come from one of those. If you live near one then your notices may come later in the week. Example: I live in east central Illinois and over the last few years my iPhones have come basically overnight from Memphis, TN. Therefore I may not see any change in status until Tuesday or Wednesday. I will however get my phone on Friday.

Also, I will not get it before Friday. Some years some people, only a handful may get theirs on say Thursday. But you could count on one hand, out of all the millions of phones shipped, all those who were lucky enough to be them early. Your chances are better playing Power Ball.

Anyone remember the iPhone 4 debacle? I had mine before the status changed from processing, and I didn’t even get the confirmation email until a week after the phone was delivered.
