iPod touch Anyone's touch shipped from Apple Online Store Yet?

I just called and either the Customer Services really reps don't what's going on or have been told to stick with the company line. I asked what was the advantage of a pre-order was and why all the stores already have them in stock. She didn't know that the Touch was already in the stores and gave me $25 off for my inconvenience.

As for the actual ship date, even though the order still says Ship date of 9/28, she said since it was "Prepared for Shipment" it would probably ship before that date.

She sounded realyl surprised when I said that and she checked my order status and history of it and said yeah that ridiculous. And then made a choice of $100 off or I could return it for free with a return label and the credit back to my card.

I didnt ask her for anything, I was expecting like a $15 credit or giftcard to use on iTunes.

But this is much better.

Nice, but it could also mean that they want you to get rid of the last of the bad screens for the ipod touch in their warehouse.
 
Here is my story... I went to a local Apple store where they had ipodtouches in... I talked to a rep and they said that they couldn't cancel my preorder (this was earlier in the week when I was visiting home). So I was like okay thats fine. Then I hear that Best Buy has gotten their stock in and I was pissed that mine had not shipped out. I called Apple today and talked to rep that gave me 10.00 off. I thought that was okay until I read what other people have gotten off. I felt like I was not worth much to Apple. I eventually got 62.00 dollars off (the shipping and an extra 50.00) after talking to a supervisor. :apple:
 
yea, i got $50 off and free overnight shipping, too. I complained and they did it fast. He also said that bc it is in the "prepared for shipment" status that it will ship soon "like today or tmw". :rolleyes: Hope so.

call and say that your order has been "prepared to ship" for a couple of days (if it has) and say you are really mad and disappointed.:D

Yeah, but the beauty is if it does have a bad screen then I can go exchange it for good one at the Apple store. Direct exchange for a good one for $300 amazing:D

I think I must have had an amazing supervisor,
 
Just explain that you are not happy with Apple chanign your order to "Prepared to Ship" and therefore forbidding you from cancelling your order. I got $50.

called before, the supervisor offered me the prepaid returned shipping , no $50 or free shipping( bestbuy.com shows all my local have them avail. for in-store pick up, and the local apple store said they sold out, but will have more tomorrow) I have been on hold for 20 min now......

i didnt do much. I called and said I was upset that people are buying in stores and I dont have mine yet! I said it was stuck in "Prepared for shipment" and that I cant even cancel it to go buy one! The guy was really nice and he said, "Oh, well that doesnt sound very fair. Let me go talk to my supervisor." He came back and said "we can offer you $50 off the price of the ipod." I said sure and then he told me that bc it was in "prepared for shipment" status that it should ship tomorrow.:)
 
I called Apple. They gave me the overnight but no 50$ reduction. I will call again in the morning because they are closed and my sister got 50$ off.
 
Just got off the phone with supervisor

Just got off the phone with a supervisor and she removed my shipping charges, but said that
a. The people receiving $ off their purchase were basically wrong, they would never do that since at the time of ordering you were told it would ship BY sept. 28
b. There is no such thing as overnight shipping on the iPod touch b/c they are shipping from overseas, and they have to go through customs firs, hence the best shipping is 2-3 days
c . She also gave me her personal extension and said that if it has not shipped to me by the 28th, call her and she would guarantee me some type of compensation.

so, uh, yeah, there ya go, speculate if the people who got $50-$100 off there orders ar full of it!!?!?!?!?:(
 
Living in the Midwest sucks

I live in St Paul, Minnesota and I placed my order online last friday after learning it was available in stores. Like some of the people in this forum my iPod is set to ship by Sept 28 and arrive between Oct 4-5. I've been to the apple store and I get the same robotic response, "the iPod Touch will arrive at the end of Sept" (I get the same response about Leopards arrival, exept it will ship at the end of Oct). Anyone from a midwest state having better luck? Maybe Chicago stores have the iPod Touch in stock?
 
isn't shipping free? over 50$ purchase its free. and I meant 2-3 day (correction on post above). Anyway I didn't get the 50$ (will call apple in the morning) but my sister did she has the 16GB on order, I have 8GB.

Does anyone know if you can just return an online order to the apple store? I'd rather do that if I could. I bought mine on Friday from best buy.

I don't know. I called and said no over-night. Nor will they give me the 50$ off. I gave my sister order and they refuse to acknowledge she got the 50$ off for the same reason I am asking for.

I didn't accuse you of lying, I merely posted what the supervisor said to me , and proposed some speculation on the issue. didn't mean to offend anyone...
(Am I being too passive aggressive? LOL)

hmm...idk what to say. I was upgraded to "standard overnite" by calling and then was given the $50 off today. It might depend on who you talk to. I dont know what to tell you.:(

I ordered early on the 6th and my status is "Not yet shipped" so I have no leverage to get anything, even if I could have bought locally.

Its odd since I read another thread here mentioning an engraved Touch ordered on the 9th was "Prepared for shipment".

Who knows.

I'll call in the morning. Maybe I will get someone nicer. Anyway enjoy that ipod touch. I will sometime in the future.

actually, I heard any touches ordered on the 5th 6th or 7th will be shipped like tomorrow. The reason your status hasnt been chnaged yet is bc they are currently going through the warehouse with fedex scanning everything. I was told they are updating everyone. Yours should change rather soon.
