Possible DDoS attack? I was wondering why my iPad experienced that error about an hour in the App Store. It's either that or Apple deliberately took down the App Store and iTunes Store to check for possible security leaks and will bring it back up once the leaks are fixed.

I restored my iPhone this morning and every 10 seconds get asked to enter my icloud password. Very annoying .

Glad it's not only me. Got me worried my iTunes account was hacked. "Unable to connect to iTunes Store" all morning on all devices here in The Netherlands and in the UK.

Attack/Hacked Apple servers?

I reset network setting - no luck
Went to reset my iPhone and it won't let me b/c I am unable to sign out of iCloud (Activation Lock)

I was listening to music in the Cloud from 5a-5:45a - then about 6:30a is when I noticed these problems (time is EST).

App store access down here in USA (0830 ET).

Access to some of my software blocked: You are using an illegal copy of this software.

So... I just did the cutest thing.
Tried updating my iPhone, said it couldn't connect.
I was having problems all day because of a bad Little Snitch uninstall. Logically I blamed that and I started deleting plist files and the like. Rebooted my macbook pro and my keyboard and mouse didn't work, only in safe mode.

Long story short, f*cked up my mac myself and I'm in the process of doing a time machine restore :D
All because I thought the iTunes issue was related to a bad uninstall.

Yes everybody is allowed to call me an idiot!

Unable to use iTunes Radio since earlier this morning. I haven't really tried any other Apple services (well, iCloud Photo Library seems fine).

It also keeps asking me to login to iCloud everytime I try to listen to iTunes Radio.

I guess I'll just pin this thread and wait till I hear better news.

I think if that were a planned outage, we'd be getting a message to that effect and the status page would also show that the services are unavailable.

iCloud

Is anyone else having trouble signing into iCloud? I signed out of mine since my Tweetbots were out of sync and I haven't been able to get iCloud working again since.

Apple Volume Purchase Program Store is down as of 20150311@0739 EST.
Code:
Http/1.1 Service Unavailable

PS. Apple did mention that they were combining all services, so that enterprise level users would not have to sign into 3-5 separate accounts ( sites ) to complete tasks. I wonder if this could be part of the outage.

Apple Support pages seem down as well -
We’re Sorry.
We’re unable to process your topic. Please choose a different topic or try again.

This is why trusting all your work, photos and data to the iCloud is already showing to be a bad idea! Its certainly not "just working" for me.

Tried searching for something that won't exist on the MAS, got "Your request produced an error.
[newNullResponse]". This does not look good.

It's been down hours and the status page hasn't been updated - it does seem like they're sleeping on the job.

No, it seems to me like the status page service that is supposed to do these updates (I assume that most of these updates are done automatically and not manually) has crashed just like the rest of Apple's services.

Both stores back up and running (in Australia at least)

Edit: Able to access stores, but can't make any purchases

Maybe they need a status page for the status page. :D

I wonder if the system statuses page was hacked to make it appear Apple is unaware and indifferent to its iCloud problems?

Paranoid theories
Criminals taking advantage of Apple Pay.
Governments angry at Apple’s encryption stance.
Activists angry over whatever their cause is
(Apple’s a convenient target of opportunity for their ire).
Criminal extortion.
OWS hackers attacking 1%-ers who own Apple, profit from Apple, or use Apple products.
North Korean attackers showing off after practicing on Sony.

Such a system is inherently flawed and should have a manual override. No status system should be in any way dependent on the systems it is reporting on.
