I can't access any apps, my iPhone 5 is completely unusable.

Whatever app I open the iTunes Store dialog comes up asking me to enter my password. I enter it, then few seconds later: "Cannot connect to the iTunes Store". After that it just closes, can't use any apps right now.
This happens in all the non-Apple apps, like Snapchat, Facebook, etc. Every single app, Apple apps work fine. What is going on??

EDIT: with airplane mode turned on, every app just crash after 1 second, no dialog.

I consider it very unlikely that these services are maintained only by "9 to 5" workers.

Sounds nearly like a DDOS attack on a wide range of Apple IP addresses. I don't see a reason otherwise why completely unrelated services should all be down.

Considering that Apple owns the entire 17.0.0.0 /8 range, that would be a huge undertaking. Plus they still use Akami for load balancing and now their own CDN.

Yep. Can't log in to my apple id.

I can confirm this behaviour here in Germany with my iPhone6.

App Store and iTunes Among Apple Services Experiencing Downtime

DDoS? That would explain them not broadcasting it through the status page? I hope not but with them saying they just fixed a "freak" encryption security issue, perhaps it's being tested right now?

Possible intentional and collaborated DDoS with the feds to test out the 8.2 patch? Just being really curious here.

The Apple System Status page is slowly being updated. It says iCloud is resolved. iTunes Store still down.

I am seeing issues with Mac App Store, iOS App Store and iTunes Match in addition to the iTunes Store.

*Edit* The details on the status page does mention the above.

A small update on the System Status page from apple

I called Apple Support, and they told me that that everyone is not able to connect to iTunes/App store because they're performing an "update".

Australia - iOS App Store and Mac App Store working fine here. Game Center, iTunes Radio, iTunes Match and iTunes Connect still unavailable.

Can someone in the USA go to appleid.apple.com and sign in and select "Manage My Apple ID" and see if you can? I keep getting a "An unknown error has occurred." message with Yellow Triangle with a exclamation (!) mark in it. It has been like that for a few hours at least.

This has been down globally for many hours now.

Based on last year's revenue, they are losing $34,246 every minute this continues.

I think it's down for everyone

"iTunes Store - All users are affected

Customers may be unable to make purchases from the App Store, iTunes Store, iBooks Store, or Mac App Store.
iCloud Account & Sign In - All users were affected

Users may have been unable to sign in.
iCloud Mail - All users were affected

Users may have been unable to access iCloud mail."

It's been down for "all users"

The status page indicates nothing is wrong with iTunes Match, when in fact it doesn't work.

I'm done with "the cloud." From now on, I'm buying all of my music on CD or from Bandcamp, and I'm storing everything locally.

im getting the same error as you

+1 here

Down for me. unable to sign in via iTunes Store or Apple TV, however i am able to sign-in just fine at appleid.apple.com

the site has gone from "All users were affected." to "All users are affected."

Its good to know this NOW :p

a check a moment ago and it was all green, but now it just changed...bit late to the game Apple..

The way status pages work is the page updates "as quick as possible" to users know about such issues, but better late, then never

Again...the coordination needed to do that would be huge. We aren't taking about a website like reddit. Apple operates on the entire 17.0.0.0 /8 range. And they use 2 different systems for load balancing. It would be very difficult to pull off a DDOS on them.

I just find it good this happened at the same report of the NSA/CIA and the malicious XCode story :)

Apple has said few hours. but i don't trust them. They just wanna calm my nerves.

How is it that nobody else seem to be reporting this?
This is absolutely crazy, I cannot use my phone for anything now. How can an issue with Apple's servers affect other apps that I use and make them crash?? Not a single non-apple app can be opened right now and all of them are asking for the iTunes Store password. Why is a Facebook or a Camera+ app asking for the iTunes Store password??

iTunes Connect, developers accounts doesn't work as well. They are having problem again with most horrible implementation of Apple ID.

That is weird...I can sign in with my apple id that is associated with our dev portal and it works just fine. But, that appears to be the only service that is working right now.

can't even log in both iTunes and Mac App store on my macbook

Same here.. Im a UK customer and trying to log in while I am out of the country (in Croatia).. but no luck with both iTunes and Mac App Store... it would look the same has also happened to my iPhone 6 too...

something really bad or fishy is going on... I haven't heard something like this that lasted so long before today and yet it is still down after several hours...

Guys, any ideas on what it might be or is it something major going on that would explain the downtime, hmm?
