Wow, this thread died with the iTunes 7.7 thread taking over.

Has anyone heard anything about the iCall VOIP app lately?

So far I've celebrated all of those holidays this month, lol. Especially the ice cream and recreation ones!

Lol!!! Was gonna say the exact same thing. :) Pretty cool that all those Apps. will be out right off the bat. Looking forward to iPhone 3G in apprx. 30 hrs. :D

ARGH!!!

I guess I might be the only angry one here.

I've spend three months developing a Texas Hold'em game for the iPhone. And what do I see? On day one the only Hold'em game is from Apple, Inc. themselves. That really bothers me that they didn't accept more developers (myself included) to give us a chance to compete day one. I'm definately not buying a 3G phone now. Not when I wake up one morning to find my three months of hard work more or less a gigantic waste of time....

... wow

500 apps is ALOT

seriously, THIS RIGHT HERE means the iPhone will pwn. I hate to be a fanboy btu there is NOTHING competitors can do anymore.

It wouldnt matter if some company made a phone with EVERY feature as the iPhone, plus extra features buut cost half the price (unsubsidized) it still wouldnt kill the iPhone. Simply because there is no way a competitor could get 4000 developers (and growing) all developing for thier phone. In fact this is a situation ONLY APPLE could succesfully pull off.
The fact is that there are a ton of phones that offer way more than apple with thousands upon thousands of apps already available for WM. I can do waymore on my WM treo than I will be able to do on my 3G iPhone, but iPhone offers simplicity, ease of use, and dependability backed by a company with awesome support and customer service.

iPhone will own WM. There's nothing BG can do about it now.

That's the nature of competition. If yours is better maybe you still have a shot. Why can all that work? Download the apple version and make sure yours is better.

There are a myriad of products for WM that do the same thing and ppl debate which apps are better.

There is plenty of room in the market place for more than one product doing the same thing.

Frankly, I don't see the benefit of playing hold'em on an iPhone... for no money... If I'm going to play a game long enough to play a tournament, I want to be able to sit down. As it stands, the game is only good for conversation and will quickly die out.

What you need is a relatively quick game to play over the network, like battleship or something like that..

I suspect more and more apps will be priced as their popularity increases and the App Store takes off numbers wise

I understand why too. Need to make money
