Bring it on.
I'm glad I'm not working tomorrow morning AND I live on the West Coast. 9 am sounds great to me. A little coffee, a little oatmeal, a little firmware and apps download. Sounds like a good morning to me....![]()
should i download 2.0 or stick with jailbreak+installer? i mean you can't argue with free, right?
so is everyone in agreement that the 2.0 firmware is coming out at the same time that the store launches? or is the store just launching for the new zealand customers? i thought we had to wait until friday.

at that "hand shake" feature on Friendbook
I see no reason the firmware has to wait for the new iPhone. Afterall the app store and 2.0 software works on the old iPhone.
The 2.0 software will be out at the same time the app store goes live.
Besides the app store is in the 2.0 software.
If this is Jobs` "greatest launch ever", even surpassing the Mac launch some 24 years ago, there will be good times ahead for Apple and iPhone OS X.
Can´t wait for 2.0, but I´ll stick to my 1st gen for a good while.
I wonder how in the world that handshake gesture to transfer business cards from one iPhone to the next would even work? I'm guessing both users would have accounts set up with FriendBook. When they do the gesture, FriendBook would get both GPS positions, and share the information with the iPhone in their registration that is also doing the same gesture and is within closest proximity? Is that right?

Probably not. I think you're overcomplicating it.
It would probably just transfer over wifi from iPhone to iPhone. The handshake gesture (shaking the iPhones) would be like pressing 'transfer' buttons on both iPhones.
2.0 will be coming out on Friday.
"Requires iPhone 2.0 Software Update (available July 11)."
July 11th in New Zealand (where iPhone 3G is launching) happens in about 2.5 hours.

Jailbroken now equals "for the fail".
I can't wait until tomorrow morning. It's like an APPLE CHRISTMAS!! (Or whatever you happen to celebrate.)![]()
