Fair enough, but I’m wondering what the value is of more power cores on a phone when efficiency is the goal. But like I said, agree to disagree. You feel aggrieved and I recognise those feelings….

Its deceitful to change a tradition to cut back on a primary piece of hardware.. sure in the grand scheme of things 10% power does not matter, but then my iPhone 12 works great now so why even upgrade at all. You see what I'm getting at? Apple took away a reason for me to upgrade this year. And if I needed a Pro I would get that.. I'm not a heavy phone user. I do those things on my Macbook Pro 2021 or iPad Pro 2021.

Exactly this. Browsing for new free apps brings no joy as it is most likely a paid app in disguise (in-app purchases). Or it has ads that play for full 2 minutes before able to use or continue. Having this experience is no different that Android Play Store. I thought Apple's App Store was all about quality and experience.

Yes how long has it been where you could find decent apps for one time 99c to like $5 with no other payments? Used to be awesome. I'm sure there might still be decent apps, but you have to wade through all the garbage.

Your dawning realisation that your iPhone 12 is just fine and doesn’t need replacing!

Well it does need a replacement because it loses battery capacity with time and also resell value. Apple just disturbed the space time continuum for users like me who upgrade after every 2 year. Is it to push some of us for Pro devices? Well played Apple, well played indeed. But I’ll wait for 15 standard though.

Apple has a battery replacement service for that so you can keep your iPhone 12 for another 2 years or more

I'm not sure how it's deceitful. They haven't cut back, they just didn't upgrade the chipset. And they have created a bigger reason to get the 14 Pro for those who want the extra. As I said, it is EXACTLY the same as the iPad v the iPad Pro. Deceit or Consistency.

And they aren't taking away a chance to upgrade, you just don't have one yet. That's a good thing. I've got the 12 Pro, and I can't see a reason for at least a couple more years. And the only reason I upgraded to the 12 Pro from the X was for the lidar and camera.

As I said they should have given Pro more power but what they did is that they gimped the non-pro.
