LOL, yeah right! :)

I'd much prefer this battery to be for 4.7" model. Anyone else feel the same?

I wouldn't be surprised if this "IS" the battery for the 4.7 iPhone. I'm still holding fast that a 5.5" is a myth, wishful thinking and all for a few people. Can't see apple doing it!

Guess we shall see in over a month from now. :) :) :)

Peace

I don't see any particular evidence that this is for a 5.5 inch iPhone.
What if it's for the 4.7 inch?
I would be blown away by the battery life!

I'm torn between wanting a 5.5 inch screen and Apple releasing only a 4.7 iPhone with a kick-ass battery.

There is no 5.5" iPhone.

Well... OK... maybe... this leak is the most believable 5.5" leak I've seen.
I'm still sceptical, components for a 5.5" iDevice may leak, until the rear shell will not appear this maybe either a test prototype or an oversized iPod touch (which makes more sense with other leaks).

Ahh, OK this is assuming this leak it's legitimate......

Hallelujah 5.5

Backstory

When I bought the original iPhone in 2007, it was painfully obvious at least to me that the screen was too small for real world practicality. Combined with the slow speed at the time, I returned it and went back to my Razor. When the speed increased in 2009, I finally dumped the Razor for the iPhone 3Gs.

However, I found having to constantly increase the size of web pages and scroll left to right to read lines of text to be a serious pain. When the HTC EVO debuted in 2010 with the 4.3" screen, that made so much more sense to me. I gave it a try and did find the screen size was the sweet spot that fixed the problem that I found with the iPhone. However, the lag that I experienced with the EVO caused me to return it and stay with the iPhone.

Note: People here thought I was absolutely bat ***** crazy to go from a 3.5" screen to a 4.3" screen and suggest that Apple increase the screen size and offer two different size models!

Before the iPhone 5 debuted, the speculation here was the screen would increase in size substantially. However, when it only increased by 0.5" with a odd wide shape, many were seriously disappointed including myself. I was so disappointed, I did not buy it. I currently have the 4s.

If the 5.5 is a reality, I will be buying that. Why? Because I have played with phones of this size and I like it. Web browsing, youtube, movies, books. It works! I'm sure 4.7 will be great too, but for me I just like a large screen. My biggest concern was will it fit in my pants pocket? Well, I tested the Samsung Galaxy Note 3 with 5.7 screen in my pants pocket and it fit perfect! Done deal

Saddest part of this whole story is that Steve Jobs was fixated on the 3.5 screen and presumably did not listen to customer feedback and ended up losing billions to the other companies that gave consumers bigger screens. Only now that Apple has been steamrolled by other companies in billions of dollars are they finally conceding and offering a bigger screen!

Why would Apple have needed to increase the screen size at the time? Data at the time showed the phones with screen sizes 3.5 - 4.0 were desired more by consumers. And sales figures backed it up. Screen sizes larger than 4.0" had a smaller market share by comparison.

Not as many people like large phones as you think.

Announcing 2 IPhone's with different sizes on the same day? That is so "Not Apple" like.

I mean, the whole thing with contracts and stuff, it makes sense for them to release them at the same time or at least announce them at the same time .

People who bought the 4.7" only for them to come out with a 5.5" a month later will definitely annoy some people . Also the Apple Stores will have to redo the layout of the iPhone tables AGAIN .

Giving everyone exactly what they want is so un-Apple. They always hold back something to keep people upgrading. If Apple is working on a 5.5" it will come at least 6-12 months after the smaller phone. By doing it this way Apple can get a lot of people who just got a 4.7" to upgrade again. I know not everyone will, but when it comes to the Apple logo a lot of people's wallets just fall open and even if they don't have the money they'll use the card.

These bigger screens aren't confirmed yet.

And I don't recall Apple going bankrupt under Steve Jobs with his tiny screens.

Can I have all your stuff when the 5.5" iPhone comes out and you inevitably throw yourself off a building in response?

No. I'll leave it to my kids. But now that I think about it... I have 3 words for you: iPod Touch XL.

There's 2 hopes that a 5.5" device will be a big iPod Touch: Bob Hope & no hope.

No chance of anyone going running/training with that.

The iPod is all about a small & "personal" music player and there's nothing personal about a 5.5" device.

except I think the people commenting that both of those panels are the same are correct. One is shown from the front and the other from behind

I agree.

2560x1440 is a marketing gimmick with no real purpose in a phone, plus it chews up through the battery life.

except the same could be said for 1080 also

Actually, after the 1st year of availability, Apple really took the focus off of iPod Touch being a music player and started pushing it's gaming capabilities. As a gaming device and a bridge to the iPad, 5.5" iPod Touch makes the MOST sense.

My friend has a droid phone that has 2 days of battery. If this is the actual battery for the 'iPhone 6L" how long would the phone last?

No. I'll leave it to my kids. But now that I think about it... I have 3 words for you: iPod Touch XL.

I highly doubt Apple will release an iPod touch XL. There have been absolutely no rumors or evidence of it. Whilst analysts, while they may wrong, have stated that Apple might be preparing a 5.5" iPhone.

The device is rumored to be delayed, which is why parts like the battery etc are being leaked later than the 4.7" model. I think we will see a rear case soon, Foxconn is said to be in it's finally stages before the iPhone's mass production, which would almost certainly prove it's existence.

The iPhone is Apple's main driver when it comes to money. The demand for a iPod between the iPhone and iPad is low and wouldn't provide Apple much profit. The iPod isn't as big as it used to be.

That being said, the 5.5" battery has the date: 03/2014. Which is extremely early in comparison to the leaked 4.7" battery with a date of: 06/2014. So, I wouldn't be surprised if the battery was just for a early prototype and therefore the 5.5" iPhone is still unconfirmed.
