same bezels, that's really disappointed :(

I was hoping for something like this with zero bezels

Since apparently everyone is just buying it anyway and even standing in line before it has even been released, why should Apple bother?

What's funny is Apple's own images were the fakes. There was a lot of disappointment in the build of the real device due to this. The Apple images were either computer generated or heavily retouched showing perfect texture and no seams.

The back of my 5 looks smooth. You can feel barely perceptible seams if you run your fingers over the back but...lol. You guys are expecting magical materials or something.

I'm not sure why people are being so rabid to proclaim this as fake - it matches literally all the leaks we have, so why would proclaiming this as fake help at all? It's still pretty much what the 6 is going to look like.

As for the comments a larger phone won't fit in your pocket... Come on. Be reasonable.
I guess it depends a lot on your habits, or perhaps you are just "weight challenged" or wearing huge baggy pants all the time, but I think this criticism is absolutely reasonable. I often wear "regular fit" jeans (Levi's 505 or similar), and the 5S is already a tight fit in the front pocket when sitting down due to its length. And the 6 looks like it's at least 1/2 to 3/4 of an inch longer. And no, I don't want to take out my phone every time I sit down, or lug around a bag everywhere I go. I have my phone with me all the time, and portability is much more important to me than a slightly bigger screen. If this thing is really as big as it looks in the picture, I'll have to skip it or perhaps switch to another manufacturer (although I would hate to lose iOS). :(

Strange that for some reason, the bands on the back don't bother me at all now.

D.

When the first leaks came out of the iPhone 4 redesign, I remember many people, myself included, thought it was too ugly to be an Apple product. We said it was too industrial, and resembled an ice cream sandwich. Of course, when it came out, we thought it was the best looking phone ever.

That's funny I didn't hear too much complaining when The protruding camera was put on the iPod touch. I don't see what the big deal is but that's the price we pay for a better camera. cameras need depth
And will also be great for third party accessories

I think the improvement in the camera will more than make up for the slightly less aesthetic appeal.

Nope, the only icons changed in 7.1 were Messages, Phone and FaceTime.

No. The gradients in 7.1 and later are more subtle in the App store, mail and Safari icons.

The first picture shows Safari in iOS 7.0 (the same as this leak).
The second one is iOS 7.1 and later, including iOS 8.0.

EDIT: for some reason the iOS 7.0 picture won't load. But the one you see in this post is how it should be.

Major new feature is Payments using Touch ID and pin #. Healthkit and Homekit are also Great new features but will take time to be adapted and will be less likely to be used by the masses of Iphone owners

I'm pretty excited about the payment system. I'm a wallet minimalist. The less I can carry in my wallet the better.

One huge win for asymmetry everywhere but one huge loss for acceptable bezels. I don't understand this fascination with sticking to the norm. You're Apple, you're supposed to think different.

Other than the bezels and antenna breaks, I do think it looks quite sexy though.

This just doesn't sit right with me. Jonny is now in charge of software AND hardware, makes the hardware even more simple than last year's already simple 5s, but then decides to make the software cluttered by shoving as many icons and he can fit onto the screen?

Also, Apple goes to extraordinary lengths to make the iPhone as thin as it can possibly make it, even if it means sacrificing battery life, yet when it comes to bezels, they're like "no, no, make those bigger". If this is real, it doesn't seem right.

Then they make both top and bottom bezels the same size for symmetry, but in the top bezel, they push the camera/speaker/prox sensor up so that on 2 out of 3 of the colours of the iPhone (white and gold), it looks off centre, as can be seen here:

We'll probably hear something like "unapologetically ugly!", that appears to be new standard speech for describing poor products.

That's not fair- I actually really liked the 5c. If they would have given the 5c the 5s upgrades, I would have been all over that neon blue one.

These leaks are ridiculous. It takes away the element of surprise. Whoever smuggled this out of Foxconn or whatever needs to be canned and fined heavily.

So you went looking for them and complained when you found them? Do you also read book and movie spoilers then complain about knowing the story?

I like hearing about the device and software before release, not that all info is factual, because it gives some perspective when the RDF is turned up to 11 at launch.

IMO the 5c/4S were the best designed iPhone's.

Yup, from a design point of view the 4 was brilliant, the 5C is a better functional device than the 5 because it doesn't need to compromise for antenna bands or be put in a case because the materials are too fragile. The only reason the 5c doesn't look better is because Apple don't make it in subtle hues or black because they know full well it would eat into sales of the 5/5S.

The 4 was the best design, the 5 made some compromises, the 6 takes them further. It's not great and the competition have started to surpass Apple in this regard now. Anyone who thinks the 6 is the "best iPhone design ever" is a fanboy, sorry.

The Health icon was rumoured to look like the Passbook icon in mockups created by 9to5Mac but it ended up looking like a white square with a heart in it.

Thank you. I haven't loaded ios 8 on the company phones cause it's vital to have them working. So I only had our test ipad to work with. No health app on it
