Too close to black friday and cyber monday sales and the iPP is the new darling. Best time would've been before iPP release.

Just sold my space gray Air 1 32GB Wifi+Cellular with smart cover for $340. Only took about a week to sell it.

Sold my iPad Air2 right here- gold 128GB, boxed with new accessories for a little under $375. A little to cheap, but can't imagine one going for much more than $400. today. Perhaps $450. in a few weeks.

The holidays are definitely the worst time to try to sell used iPads. Staples had the iPad Air 2 64GB for $424 on Thanksgiving/Black Friday for example, so anyone in the market for one were snapping up deals like that. I agree with the earlier advice that you'll probably do better after the first of the year and the big sales at retailers diminish.

I have an iPad Mini 2 listed on Ebay right now. I've had lot of views and several people have it on a watch list. I did an auction, which I started at $150 with a buy now for $295 which no one will do. I did throw in a ZooGue Leather Case and it also has a Zagg Glass Screen Protector (iPad is Used but Mint) If no one bids on it or it doesn't sell then I'll just keep it and use it like a large iPad in my company vehicle. I am damn sure not giving it away as it is worth more to me for personal use than to just give it away. I had another one that I listed about 3 weeks ago and it went for $200.

I think accessories make the transaction too personal. When someone buys just a device they can set it up and make it their own. The accessories come with user baggage and I'd imagine a bit more wear and tear.

Also, I sometimes worry about package deals on Craigslist. For some reason I imagine theft is involved. Maybe it's just because its not the original way the item was sold the first time.

The closer to a professional, in store experience I can get, the more likely I am to peruse an ad.

Well I've sold many iPad's and iPhones I usually always throw in whatever case I may have at the time. I usually include pictures of them as well. I have actually had many ask questions about the add-ons. So, my experience tells me that while some may not care about the add-ons, I don't buy that it would cause someone not to bid because it's too personal.

I was charging $520 for a wifi space grey iPad Air 2 128 gb and including a Smart Cover and Apple wireless keyboard. I thought that was reasonable in comparison to other listings. What do you think?
No offense but at that price I rather buy it new from apple.

I sold my silver iPad Air 2 128GB Wifi last week for $450, and threw in the Apple Smart Case in Midnight Blue (& a product RED Smart Cover) to get there. It took me a while, I'll tell you that.

Let me sell this unlocked space grey 6 Plus 64gb iPhone first on Craigslist...

Great price

no kidding. Before I put up the listing I had no idea there were such great deals going on. I just looked at what other people were selling similar models for (between 500-600) and figured 520 sounded like a reasonable price to sell from. Like start at 520 and then get offers negotiating me down and figure on a little less.

I ended up putting it up for 450 and started getting multiple offers for 400. So I took it. My girlfriend put hers up and got offers for 400 too so I'm guessing that's the sweet spot right now.

I'm actually thinking there's something to this! I had my air 2 with a Smart Cover and apple wireless keyboard included. After a week not a single offer. Took the extra stuff off (this was before I dropped the price) and got a few emails. It sounds crazy...but a part of me thinks people see that extra stuff and it makes the iPad feel like more someone else's property whereas just the iPad by itself feels like...well. An iPad. One where you would have to use more of your imagination to think about someone having owned it

I can agree that too many accessories might be a barrier but I don't think something as simple as a basic Apple Smart Cover/Case is. I include the cover when I sell and no one ever turned it down. I also always keep the original packaging so it is always included and I think that could help.

One strategy might be to offer the iPad itself alone but include an option for thr accessory bundle for an extra $xxx.

Surface hardly affect iPad's sales ....

In my opinion the driving factors were the time (Black Friday) and the price (too high).
Would it be safe to say there's a cumulative impact from larger 5-6" phones, Surface, cheap Androids, etc? And perhaps people are just starting to drift back toward a laptop form factor?

For students phones, iPads and Android tablets won't cut it. I'd say the largest impact is ~$200 Chromebooks for high school and below and ~$500 Surface 3 for high school to college and university. Much easier financially too for parents vs a more expensive MBA that lacks pen input for note taking and touch.

Did you sell it on Craigslist? I'm about to sell my Air 1 64gb wifi/cellular and wondering how much I should be asking.

Yes on CL. This is in California (not sure if geographical location matters much).

I was thinking I'd have trouble too but my Air2/64GB/AC+ sold faster than my brain could comprehend what a horrible mistake I made.

The moment mine sold it sunk in that if I'm ever going to want to use a tablet out of the house then it would be a gigantic iPad Pro. So now my solution is to borrow my daughters horribly slow pink iPad Mini 2 when I need a travel iPad.

Anyway, my points are:
1) It's all about presentation. Psychologically, $499 sounds a whole lot cheaper than $520. Bonus items are key to selling but if you want a sale then maybe replace the keyboard with another bundle item

2) The iPad Air 2 really is Apples best ever iPad so far. So maybe keep it?

I am currently selling a Air 2 64gb that was purchased as a back-up for my company. It was set up but never used so I will see what it will sell for.
