perhaps Republicans who get told how bad this impacts business and doesnt create job but kills them could wake up and make a stand.
Maybe, but events have shown that it may be just as unlikely that practically any member of the GQP, both voters and those in government, will stand up to Trump and his enablers, at least long enough to make a difference, as they would stand up to their god, given that they don't know the difference.

until someone stands up and says "enough"

that might be voters. which would take a couple years.

but then you have people deported illegally and judges being rounded up and ignored...

but hey blame the current quarter figures on Biden. LOL
Trump will continue to blame Biden and immigrants for everything that goes wrong. He is a sociopath.

I think things will start getting back to normal as Japan and possibly China is threatening to start selling their TRILLION dollars worth of treasuries to wake up the administration to the harsh reality that they do not "hold all the cards."

China's economy is in the tank! They are closing factories like crazy. Without the US, they will be broke like a joke.
I don’t like China and I’m glad they’re having problems but I don’t think your analysis is correct. If they don’t sell their products to the US they will simply sell them elsewhere instead.

The CCP don’t have to face elections or opinion polls. They’re a dictatorship.

Shein and Temu will be dead shortly if the CCP doesn't come to the negotiating table.

China has started exempting some US goods from tariffs like pharmaceuticals and industrial chemicals.

Several years ago, FedEX, UPS and many other related companies started imposing a "Fuel Surcharge" blaming it on the sudden increase in gas prices. Over the course of time, the gas prices dropped, even lesser than what it was before the fuel surcharge was imposed. However, that additional fee continued to be imposed so that the corporates could show handsome profits.

2025 is a similar and great opportunity for companies to raise prices. The consumers will complain for a few months, but will used to it and the higher prices will become the way the of life.
tell me you dont know how a tariff works without telling me your don't know how a tarrif works... 🤦‍♂️

They raised prices worldwide and also announced game price increases that have nothing to with tariffs. Given that Sony raised prices last year, and at the time Microsoft said they would hold for then but might not be able to forever, ascribing all of that to potential tariff impacts would seem incorrect.
TIL Games are not printed on discs, with cases, and plastic, and shipping, and labor.

They are using that to help absorb the tariff cost all around. Xbox barely sells consoles

If the tariffs and de minimus stuff kills temu and SHEIN then I’ll be happy. Dropshipping and cheap crap is not only bad for the US economy, but it’s bad for the environment, I’d wager 95% is ending up in landfills, not to mention the energy costs of making all the plastic crap.

It isn’t all bad though. If I need new gym shorts, I’d rather pay some factory $5 in China via Temu over paying Nike $20, who in turn pays $5 to the same factory in China.

Apple has the highest margins in the business and don't pass along savings when they use slave labor so Cook should just suck it up and try being human for a change.

Absolutely not, we didn’t vote for your idiot President. American voters should shoulder the pain for their decision to elect a clown.

No mega corporation cares about anything but their bottom line. And unfortunately for you, that likely will mean paying more to help them cover their tariffs fees in America.

Until companies start moving their production back to the US - or at least out of China.
There is only one country in the world that is not tariffed: Russia. All the rest of them have a permanent 10% tariff, according to the Trump regime. So “out of China” doesn’t work, and unless the regime allows bribes or promises of factories to stand in the place of actual factories, it will be years before production can be returned to the USA.

Games are printed in Mexico, not China. The disc cost is also a few bucks. Nice try!

Personally I don’t find child and slave labour a laughing matter but each to their own man.

Ever heard the saying two wrongs don’t make a right?
I'm not laughing at forced labor, I'm laughing at your implication that Apple is somehow unique in offshoring to countries with more lax laws than ours. It's a pervasive issue, but singling out Apple is a pretty weird place to start IMO.
