Genuine question, is this earlier than usual?
Haven't been around the Mac scene long enough to know. Just curious.
Is the pricing a joke? Is Apple really getting this smug?
I configured a Mini ITX tiny case (Thermaltake Core V1) with Core i7 6700K + MSI Mini ITX mobo + GTX 970 + Samsung 960 Pro + 32 GB DDR4 4000Mhz RAM + Modular PSU + Dell 24" 4K monitor for under $1500. Installed Sierra on it using few usb3 and nvidia tweaks in clover.
Done.
This hackintosh literally screams and tears apart any crap Apple has dished out in the last few years.
What is wrong Apple?
It's got 2 TB3. That's plenty.
True. But how do they expect developers to develop next gen games and apps on these crap MBPs or iMacs with Intel Iris graphics? They really just don't see the mac as a growth sector anymore, they are just banking on the loyal fan base to pay outrageous margins for inferior hardware.
I love my MBA, but I refuse to buy another mac until I see a value for my dollar. Having iMessage on my desktop isn't worth 2k.

iPad and iPhone apps are not going to develop themselves on mobiles or tablets.
For those not interested in snark, the refurbs aren't a bad deal. They are nearly as good as new and come with a full warranty. I bought a refurb MacBook Air a few years ago and had no issues with it whatsoever.
Shush your mouth, at least it comes with incredible margins! Go Apple, go Apple!13 inch, no touch bar, dual core, no dedicated graphics, refurbished.
2k$.
Seems a bit steep.
The issue isn't whether the refurb store sells quality products; they do. The issue is the price of an underpowered, old tech computer for a really high premium price.

100% agree. Honestly when will Apple realise they're selling commodity computers not silicone dreams sprinkled with pixie-dust. Now people will say "masOS is the best and I couldn't possibly lower myself to the general masses level and slum it with Windows" but come on, it's a tool and these days I feel Apple is selling jewel-encrusted hammers.13 inch, no touch bar, dual core, no dedicated graphics, refurbished.

iPad Pro doesn't even have XcodeiPad pros . As silly as it sounds , that is what they expect , not cause it's easy to do and the right tool, but cause they are more profitable . Profit first and foremost, second comes use ability. Used to be the other way around, build a great device and add a price . Now it's remove as much as possible and create revenue streams out of it.

Apples problem is that macOS is neglected as well. If you talk stable software....it's a draw between my macOS and windows 10 install tons . And that means I get so many more spiny beach balls these days. Maybe this year my macs will wake from sleep without issues ...
why?No touch bar is a benefit.
no, replacement MBA is the 12" MacBook. If this was the replacement MBA at the MBA price it would still be pricey, but doable. Not under any circumstances at this price.
Depends if you actually need to plug something into it or just gaze lovingly at it...Does anyone else feel that the USB-C looks like an ugly little plastic thing that does not belong into the sleek aluminium body, or is it just me?
