Pretty.

Tell me, do modern LCD/OLED screens actually suffer from the phosphor burn-in that afflicted CRT TVs - which is what screen savers were invented to save your screen from?

Ok, I suppose they've got privacy/security applications, too.

Bring back the flying toasters...

I noticed that since the 10.2 update, the note on the settings screen now says they're 350MB downloads instead of 600MB downloads.

And a few of them are even smaller than that. It looks like about 160MB for the shorter 3min clips, and 350MB for the longer 6min clips.

OLED could potentially suffer from it. I have an older Samsung AMOLED phone that I did development on which burned in by accident. It failed to boot after plugging it in to charge overnight, and burned in the Samsung logo by the time I came in the next morning. But newer displays are probably better, but LG's TVs are known to have some persistence issues. So a screensaver still helps.

But I actually don't mind the screensavers here. Sometimes, it is nice ambiance when listing to music and working.

Android tv has a way better setup. It simply streams the screen savers and you rarely see the same picture twice.

Well done Mac Rumors! Just read the entire first page and not one person has said "Why are they wasting time on this instead of fixing bugs in..."insert problem person has here". Usually there's a deluge of that whenever something is updated the person doesn't want to see.

Ha, I was thinking the exact same thing. Just how bad does Macrumors think the Apple TV is that the screen savers are one of its best features. I actually rather like my Apple TV (despite it's lack of 4K) I wouldn't rate the screensavers that highly, nice as they are :D

Ive noticed lately not to many positive articles come from this site, so they probably do think its the best feature.

yeyyy options that I can't pick and choose. I bet I will still see the same London screensaver 95% of the time and I'm thousandsssss of miles away from London.

only those who own an atv can understand.
Imagine not being able to choose the screensaver on your computer or not being able to select your wallpapers on your phone, fun! isn't?

Ah, the holiday slow news season has officially arrived. In a more fun and exciting time that meant MW was mere weeks away. Now it just means CES is coming with 2017's slew lame devices.

The Greenland ones are unbelievable. I'd rather watch that than most programs actually on tv.

Great stuff, no mystery on why no critics, thanks & keep them coming.

For the ones using the brilliant Coates Mac version, it will list the new ones automatically.

Why are they wasting resources on this? Spend that money getting more TV companies to implement their single sign on feature. The list of cable and satellite companies that support it is laughable at this point.
