Doesn't work for me at all in my Purchased playlist...when I click on a column to bring up ones I can add, Ringtone is missing. I can add it to iTunes search results but that's it.

Oh well... then again I'm running iTunes 7.4.0 not the latest 7.4.1. Maybe they're doing this to make me update?

Steve said they would "make them live" sometime this week. My guess is that when you start iTunes it connects to the store and the store responds with a signal that enables the list view function (bell) for items on your hard drive and editing software.

Has ANYONE actually made a ringtone? Kinda doubt it. The "bells" are showing up in various (store) locations, ie; the top 100, BUT there is not an option to see the "bell" column in "purchased" or any other playlist on your local machine.shop thoi trang quan ao thoi trang han quoc quan ao so sinh cho be vest cong so vest cong so chup anh cuoi o ha noi

Update

iTunes just gave me a pop-up asking me if I want it to search my purchased songs to see if they can be made into ringtones. Getting closer or it's finally done.

New update: nice! Not a single song I've already purchased can apparently be made into a ringtone!

it's here!

That's not right!

No, wait. I found songs in the iTunes store that have the bell icon that *are* in my purchased list. What gives?

They flipped the switch, can add it to Purchased playlist now. Doesn't look like any of my previous purchases are eligible for ringtones...oh well.

anyone notice there are alerts for text and e-mail? Search ringtones. sort by time. there are bunch. Anyone use these yet? should I be the brave one? <<I bet I know the answer to that>>

It works!

You can click on any song in your purchased list, then click Store>Create Ringtone. If the song can be made into a ringtone (even if there is no bell), the ringtone maker will pop up, and you can edit, preview, and buy the ringtone. It works!

Did you make one, buy it and install it?

Edit...
Just went thru the whole thing, new tone on the phone.
First time I tried to sync it, it said "did not sync ringtone because you aren't authorized to play it on this machine" shop do lot shop thoi trang shop do so sinh cho be thoi trang cong so nu thoi trang cong so nu chup anh cho be dep re
Dialog to authorize the machine came up, did it, then sync'd again. Works well.

ok, I had to delete my old ringtones i made with previous version before the purchased ringtones would show up...so they have completly closed to back door.

but heres the catch.
i cant still see no bells.
and so i bought a song i already had, just
so i can make a ringtone and it said,
that i couldnt make a ringtone out of it.
i have a ringtones tab and everything
but i cant see which ones are
"ringtone ready"

anyone have the same problem?

haha i guess it doenst help when your whole entire library is all ripped songs. gaaahhh how come the bell symbol doesnt show up next to songs in the itunes store. is this apple's way of trying to trick us to buy every song haha

also maybe this is because its still so brand new, but i was able to make a ringtone out of a song that didnt have a bell next to it. maybe they havent finished putting up the bells yet haha
