On the note: I think "Gulf of Florida" would be a better name than "Gulf of America", as that matches the Gulf of California.
As for why a Gulf enterally in Mexico is named after California: It's commonly known that California used to be part of Mexico, but what's not as commonly known is that part of California is still in Mexico! When the US took California from Mexico, they only took Alta (Upper) California. Baja (Lower) California remained with Mexico. That big Mexican peninsula just south of the US state of California: That's the California peninsula, aka Baja (Lower) California. That gulf on the peninsula's east coast: That's the Gulf of California.

No, I don’t think that’s odd. Perfectly understandable even. By letting a convicted criminal run for president, the legal system in US showed its weakness already.
It will not take long before Trump has his puppets everywhere in that system. No way justice can be independent anymore in the US.

Maybe you don't know, but by law he is not "a convicted criminal." You're not "a convicted criminal" until final judgement is entered. People get to live their lives as a normal citizen until that day comes. If you already knew that then I have to tell you wanting something to be true, does not make it so.

Yeah…cutting funding for children’s cancer research was soooo useless.
The market exploded under Biden’s term. My 401k was through the roof. Now Trump will trash the economy, just like every other Republican president has done for the last 30 years.
This does sound bad, but if you look at how the money was spent, very little of it went into research, most of it was pocketed as administrative fees.
As usual, nothing is correct here. He was convicted. Cases were dismissed because it was clear he was going to have them dismissed once he assumed office. He cannot legally cut spending without the approval of Congress.
Administrative fees like building the lab, paying the utilities, paying for security, custodial, and disposal services. It wasn't simply "pocketed".
The reason why My 401K exploded was their investments in Wall Street. Worldwide, there was literally no place else to put your investment money. I would not say the market exploded but was like a flushed toilet; a diverse portfolio was just not possible or secure. I wish people would take basic courses in macroeconomics to better understand what is going on.

Nothing snappy about it. The administrative fees are an important part of the funding. Can they be spent more efficiently? Maybe in some cases. The government is paying institutions for the time and expertise of their employees. Do you support them profiting off that or are you some kind of commie? (Note: Sarcasm)
