I wish people would stop saying this crap.

Acting like Steve Jobs was flawless. we are in 2018 and you have no way of knowing what he would have done.

Agreed. Steve Jobs would apparently have always done the opposite of what’s being done according to these people. It’s part of the “doomed” mantra that I thought was hyperbole to shut down Apple criticism. No, people at MR really do seem to believe Apple is doomed.

This is how you know Steve Jobs's legacy is dead: there is no way he would have approved of this.

Without getting into a deep discussion of whether Jobs was correct he got rid of floppy drives, DVD drives and banned Flash software from IOS. All of these were controversial decisions, and ultimately because Apple did these things other companies followed suit. Once again, I’m not trying to talk about if he was right or wrong, just that he made decisions that were not popular with customers and stuck to those decisions.

And he never more than 1/2 heartedly supported gaming on Macs, and he was the one who quit using NVidea in Apple products.

I’d love an iPhone X style phone in a smaller form factor, but I wish people would stop talking about it in tandem with the SE. It should launch with the other flagship phones in the fall and have all the latest hardware.

Yes I mean. The smaller form factor with a flagship spec. Not another SE.

What about the ir and burn in problems with oled ?

Means we'll have to upgrade / change more often

Oh , I see the logic now $$$

Steve approved the G4 Cube, the puck mouse, the iPod Hi-Fi, Ping, the button-less iPod shuffle, iTools, .Mac, MobileMe, the iMac with no ports, the MacBook Air with no disc drive...

i don't know some of these failed financially but were awesome products. Like the Cube and iPod Hifi.

The iMac with "no" ports. I assume you're referring to the first iMac that abandoned legacy ports? It was a great idea at the time and the product was a massive hit that saved Apple.

The MacBook Air with no disc drive was also a good call. Ultimately one of their best and most successful computers.

The rest I agree were blunders.

Is Apple going to get rid of the hideous notch?

This notch thing is becoming the new "antenna bands" on the back of the older iPhones. I swear some people would never ever be satisfied no matter what and they will always find something to complain about. I just can't imagine how the notch does bother me. If they get rid of it, still fine but for me honestly does not make that much difference.

The rumors last year suggested all 2018 iPhone models would be OLED.

This rumor seems to be more believable, because Apple is shifting away from LCD technology, aside from the 6.1 rumored iPhone. I think the real changing consideration will be Micro LED, perhaps somewhere around 2021. I think OLED Is here for now, but once Micro LED is introduced, it will provide less power draw (Which is said to impact the longevity of the battery), higher resolution and its signficantly brighter over OLED.

Is Apple going to get rid of the hideous notch?

The camera, earpiece and sensors have to go somewhere.

Do you want to go back to the previous style where the top bezel had huge amounts of blank space?

I know what you're trying to say... that the notch cuts into the screen... subtracting usable screen area.

But solid top bezels are mostly wasted space. To me that's much worse.

The "notch" gives you two extra areas for status icons above the content area... instead of blank dead glass.

no. probably should get over it, since it's here to stay. just like not having a headphone jack.
I remember reading rumors about the 2019 iPhone getting rid of the notch though. Of course it’s just a rumor but if Apple were to give the iPhone another design change in 2019 then wouldn’t it be only natural for them to get rid of the notch? Clearly notch isn’t “the future”. If Apple really believes that it is, then they should bring the notch to the iPad as well as MacBooks & iMacs, which I hope they don’t.

Maybe this third OLED will be for the higher end iPhone X SE. ONE CAN DREAM!

But, but  is doomed.
Look at the iPhone sales. They have the the only tablet worth buying. Their MacBooks and iMacs numbers are also in the millions.  music is growing. iMovies still selling strong. Apparently in the nearby future  glasses featuring AR.  car is on the way. Etc, etc.
Don’t forget the next iPhone killer is set to be released on the 5 of june. Lenevo.
If you don’t see the doom hanging over .

Speculation on what Jobs would have done. He did all kind of controversial stuff, btw.

Apple is far more successful now and is selling 3X more iPhones than when Jobs was living.

Sad part for your narrative is that the notch doesn’t bother people and they see the benefits of the tech inside it.

I hope not. notch is great.
Notch is there because we were told bezels were ugly, gotta catch up to those infinity displays (I detest that name) marketing is great at handing us a bone, its just that some just don't bite that's all. When Apple consider all phones look like its X way to much and its lost that marketing edge or it comes up with a different design for face ID it will change again and marketing will tell us all how wrong we have been and why no notch/new notch/whatever they do with the notch is better, I'm sure.
