Well that's one way to stifle competition!

I can already imagine some companies trying to sue FedEx and others for prioritising this high volume customer.

A private company can prioritize whoever the hell they want. Welcome to the wonderful world of capitalism.

I'd just like to remind everyone the pilots HATE flying these things over. Imagine the risk of fire with 200,000 iphones packed with hazardous lithium batteries!

Nah, the worst part is having to open each box to make sure they're turned off for take-off. ;)

I hope the UK gets pre orders this time, we got pushed out to make room for China last year.[/

I am taking no chances on pre-orders, couriers and destiny and planning on camping overnight outside my nearest apple store. That way I will get my phone on launch day.

Mmm... I'm predicting a thrilling "air-heist" with movie adaptation by early 2016...

How many iPhones can you get into a jumbo?

I remember the reports prior to the iPad announcement. Apple bought up almost the entire worlds supply of flash memory.
That was a clue, something big was coming around the corner.
Shoulda bought more stock.

I'm not going to lie. I'm extremely jealous of Apple.

I mean seriously, imagine the power that company has. it's also scary! they can literally "buy" up so much airspace at one time other companies can't even move product? that's awesome!!!

FedEx: Yo it's iPhone season! stopped sverythinf, lets get rich!

Samsung: sooo maybe we make out keynote ahead if apples and then ship the week or toe after? wait. Apple owns the entire airspace for the jest 3 weeks. dammit! we need to keynote in August next year..

It's pretty exciting to think that millions of iPhone 6's are flying over our heads right about now!

Tuesday, hurry up!!

It's a great time for AAPL share holders.

Tim Cook: Guys, these... people... are buying our iPhones in hordes. They don't know we still only put 1 GB of RAM in there. They are buying it in hordes... Man, this world is wonderful.

Got the proposed release day booked off work, so fingers crossed it's launched on the 19th (In the UK) failing that, I'll just have a long weekend! :)

Let's hope that due to all the extra courier work there's no lack of supply, although sadly I think there always will be...

Why air shipping instead of the usual shipping containers into the Port of Oakland as they have done for years?

Samsung is so cheap, they would not even consider air freight. They will do the usual thousands of shipping containers bid out to several trans-pacific shipping companies as it arrives into Ports of Seattle, Portland, Oakland and Los Angeles. Then they take bids on trucking companies moving the containers to retail outlets all over the country.

Unless the shipping company is breaking a contract of shipping services, they have no legal ground to sue. There is a legal gray zone of "conspiring anti-competitive practice" but that is very tough to prove. Knowing Apple, they dropped a big dime for this. All the competitor has to do is outbid Apple to get shipping time.

Also, would not be surprised if demand is this tough, some trans-Atlantic shipping planes will move to the far east to take care of the excess demand. That is capitalism as the government bureaucrats get out of the way.

Imagine if they built the iPhone here in the US, and Apple would make $50 less in profits, but more jobs and a stronger economy would mean more iPhone sales.

Anyway, hope this iPhone 6 sells well.
I would definitely pay $200 for the 5.5" 128GB (unsubsidized and bundled with a free iWatch).

They are going to be held *behind* bars this time around!

Manufacturing the iPhone in the US would cost much more than $50/unit over manufacturing in China. If the iPhone was built in the US, it would sell a fraction of the units and Apple would be out of business in no time. You simply can't afford that type of large-scale production in the US.

This kinda surprises me. I would think that many many iPhones fit in an airplane, so how can they take up that much capacity?
A TV is a bit bigger though... :p

Sure is, all that cheap slave labor makes it so. Excellent!

Random internet guy supports slavery by buying an iPhone 6. Bloody hell mate, get off your privileged fat arse and line up for an iPhone 6 already.
