It's taking so long to get here and my bank already offers a similar service via iMessage for free that doesn't need iOS at the other end. For those reasons when it finally does arrive I will never use it.

I probably use this more than regular Apple Pay at stores. It's so convenient!

Well then, since you’re in such a given mood with your dollars, how about sending me $50 ;)

J/k but truth be told I’m not if you want to hehehe.

The integration with iMessage is really slick. That said, it sucks its not multiplatform (same for iMessage) - our work group (where I'd use this the most) is about half and half on iOS / Android.

I bought technology companies would’ve learned from BBMs mistake not making it multi platform. I just hope Apple’s iPhone and iMessage don’t follow blackberrys or RIMs demise.

It's neat, for US of A of course. The majority of the world may never will enjoy the feature. Not to complain though, the alternative is quite good. My bank also has this little app with which you can send money using just user ID instead of account number.

It's a bit of hassle though because it's not 1st party app. A deep integration is what makes Apple Pay shines.

But poor sales and revenue in the first place, was the exact reasons RIM opened BBM for multi platform. It was the last and failed effort for RIM to survive in the industry. Blackberry was doing too good, they get lazy and shorted by Apple, and Android.

Someone sent me Apple Pay cash and they were shocked to see a $15 charge. They usually use venmo and see no fees. I don’t need know if that’s true, but that’s what I was told.
Maybe they’re drunk. Unless you use credit card there no fee.
[doublepost=1533703372][/doublepost]Apple Pay and Apple Airpods are my MVP Apple products at the moment. Everyone I know use Apple these days. Like shared Netflix account. I’ll text my sister $4 each month for Netflix. I get rent sent to me each month. And money hits my account in 1-2 days. I can’t complain.

As in, I have 50.00 in APC and item is 75.00. It won't take the 50.00 and let me use the Credit Card tied to my Apple account for the balance.

if you're talking about your iTunes account Apple has never allowed that as a form of in store payment outside of doing the Easy Pay thing in the Apple Store app.

someone didn't read the info when signing up. because it's right there. here it is again on their website https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207886

Second person isn’t offering any money, just refunding initial $55. If they were serious they would refund and send another $55...

no. second person likely already paid for the meal at the restaurant. first person is paying second person back $55.

I will be using this heaps if Apple bring it to Australia. No one carries cash anymore, so my circle are used to one person paying using a card and everyone transferring money using their bank apps. Although our banks now transfer money instantly, it's still easier to send an iMessage.

I don't get it. Is it just because I am poor? Do people have that much trouble finding already established ways of paying for products and services? Do you really need apply pay (etc) in addition to what's already out there for decades?
Do you really need easier ways of spending your money?
Please feel free to send me some of it too!

Too bad it’s still not available in the U.K.

I don't think there is a need for this to be in the UK when there is PayM (a multi-bank operated payment system that uses mobile numbers to send money to each other). PayM has the advantage in that it's supported by all of the major banks, is accessible via your banks mobile app, is linked to your mobile number and works on both Android and iOS (providing your banks mobile app supports it - most do).

It's already an expensive dinner as is..

This is the US so don't forget - 20% of the bill will be the Tip.

I may be in the minority but in my immediate circle nobody uses Apple Pay Cash. Venmo, PayPal and Cash App have filled the void already.

No, you should be in the majority, IF for a strange reason you live in US. If you are in the rest of the world that majority becomes 100%.

Apple Pay will never pick up because money does not exists in Apple's closed ecosystem or walled garden. I need to deal with people who do not own Apple products or have an iCloud account.

This is why Visa and MasterCard works, it works everywhere and anywhere.

Yeah I honestly don't understand people in the UK asking for this when we have PayM which is superior.

Love this as an idea, however it needs to be a universal system that works across all platforms.
That means Android for the most part as that's what the vast majority of phones users actually use.

Nothing against Apple, but it must be universal to genuinely be useful.

If it's Apple only it will always be a niche product.

I've looked at PayM but never tried it.
I did a test of people I work with, and not one person had even heard of it.

If I'm honest, I don't recall seeing any BIG push/marketing to get this into the publics mind.

Wonder why.

Because in the banking apps it's just referred to as 'Pay a contact' then you choose their mobile number and choose the amount and send it. It's not actually referred to as PayM in most banking apps.

Does that mean you need to log into your home banking app? If that's the case then that's no good.

Like Apple pay or Google pay it needs to be simple, quick, and seamless. Quicker than putting my hand in my pocket and pulling out some lose change.

We really are behind on this as no one is pushing it. I want to walk round a car boot sale, offer 50p for a lampshade and just put my phone near there's and the 50p transfers
