will this thing ever be bought to the table ?

How long can you keep saying "Apple wants to make this perfect, which is the reason for the delay"

Maybe Apple knows something we don't ? So we just have to 'assume' the above ?

Not anymore.... Apple surly got issues here.

iWatch isn't for me, but still delaying, and we still don't know weather they'll announce it..

Its a vicious circle...

All in all, Apple being left behind (we say Apple want to make it wok), but there could be any number of actual reasons not disclosed.

For all we know Apple could put this on the back burner, just like hey did with the Apple Television, just because they are having trouble somewhere along the chain..

I hope this does come out, but by then other companies would have already got their two feet in and improvements you would otherwise have seem in iWtach IF Apple released it last year.

Thus,, if Apple keeps delaying, they'll be behind more with features, and have to work harder to improve it

iWatch included?

Could Apple offer iPhone 6 w/ an iWatch included? Like Microsoft did with Kinect and XBOX ONE. Clearly that failed but if Apple offered it with little to no price increase for customers it would pretty much guarantee use and would be a baller move. I'm not convinced iWatch would be of it's own event caliber. iPhone and iPad are the tent poles. If you include it within a tent pole product your core just got a major boost.

Still just not sold on the idea of smart watches. But then again I wasn't sold on the idea of smartphones until iPhone, nor tablets until iPad.

As of right now the only Apple device I'm planning on upgrading this fall is maybe my iPad Mini but we'll see what this watch brings to the table.

Yeah I don't get this either. Let's not release any products for 8 months and then release our two flagship products and two potentially huge new products all in the same 2 month period? ummmm

That's my issue with all releases being crammed into 4 months at the end of the year.

change that mockup please :)

Don't vorry, it von't be a gurly 'bangle style' design!

Maybe these differences in opinion reflect the design challenge ahead for apple.

Sure it's easy to design a gender neutral phone but can they do it with a watch? A bracelet?

I don't think a watch can be gender neutral at all. At minimum, the circular dial size would have to be different but that would completely change the display...

I want Internet access all the time, when I'm at the beach, in the shower, working out in the gym, running, surfing etc. That means iWatch must be water resistant and light weight. It should also be wirelessly charged, preferably while I'm wearing it.

If Apple can bring me that, I will buy one. Price is not that important. Anything below $1000 is OK.

Apple will come up with something unexpected.
Not a classic watch and no tracking device with Siri and Notifications either.

Everyone will be disappointed and claim that Apple did not deliver but Samsung could.

But one years later we will all agree that Apple made the right decision to create a minimal device that can be used in addition to whatever technology you already carry anyways.

I think I will be disappointed, too. But I'm exited about Apple's ability to imagine how we deal with accessories 5 years down the road.

Nearly all gadgets have become smaller and more limited in functionality, yet the are more powerful and can be integrated in your life without you even noticing.

I do hope that Apple goes down that road, creates a minimalistic device that lasts 10 days, authorizes your payments, notifies you, is voice controlled and communicates over bluetooth only.

The iWatch will probably look like something between the two often-posted mockups, I reckon.

A curved screen but with a strap to keep it still, not the bangle-watch.

Yeah, i'll definitely have to give up buying some of the stuff they are going to be releasing. Can't spend $2,000 in 2 months on electronics.

I was thinking about this and I figure the iWatch will be $395, the iPhone 6 will be $499 for the 5.5" model in 32GB (subsidized price) and the (only hoped for) 4K monitor will be $1295 so it's just about $2K.

Last year I spent more because I got my Mac Pro, but $2K plus on electronics IS a lot of money. The downside to having the "best product pipeline in 25 years".

The second half of this year is going to be a big one for Apple.

I am hoping to see iPhone 6, iWatch, Apple TV 4, and a Retina iMac with OS Yosemite.

The Beats acquisition is something that will become more realized perhaps next year. Apple will be pushing HD audio in iTunes and perhaps an online music service.

Its certainly an exciting time to be in the Apple ecosystem.

Not less than $299 but it might be that. Especially if it is just a spin on the Pebble and lacks the ability to make calls in it's own, take photos etc.

I really hope notifications, answering phone, taking photos and listening to music are not the main features.

These are not what I need a new device for.

All of these functions I am happy to do on my phone and the bigger screen is nice for these things.

Unless the new device serves purposes that iPhone cannot, it's not going to be a runaway success.

You realize the patent leaks and rumors for Apple's iWatch began in 2011 right? Which is when the media began going wild with the iWatch is coming' stories?

Samsung then released a watch 2 years later.

No they weren't the first. We already had other smart watches before them.

We even had an Android phone/watch before Samsung's smartwatch: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Z1_Android_Watch-Phone, and a flood of Chinese-made Android watches too. Go Aliexpress and search for smart watch, there are so many of them.

the price will make or break this. Any more than $200-250 will be too much. Should be around the price of the Nike Pulse and the competition. Maybe a small apple bump because we fan boys will pay extra if they make it shiny.

People don't use watches and I personally work out and run so I am interested in stuff like this but Even at $200 I'd probably pass unless it did something revolutionary which I doubt it will. Even if I can make calls from my wrist it looks stupid.

200$? Im thinking more like 399$...Mobile carriers wont subsidize your iWatch just like they subsidize your 800$ iPhone.

Who ever pays that is an idiot. The samsung one is failing because it's too expensive. Apple doubles the price and puts their logo and thinks they will sell that high. Add on tech always fails. If you need to buy a 6-800 dollar phone then a 400 watch to make it work. No ones going to buy that.

I hear that they want Heath insurance to cover some of the price. All well and good but if anyone ever bought a health product or exercise equipment doesn't mean you actually use it. I have a $300 Bob XL punching bag that my roommates and I just dress in funny cloths and probably used for less then a month in the 3 years I had it. Or all the cloth hanger treadmills you hear about.
