That plus 15 million iPhone 5s and c, plus 35 million (40?) iPads (there's an october event, right?) and 10 million Macs...

Sounds like maybe, just maybe, Apple might survive until the end of the year, before closing doors in January.

Are you an idiot? No offense.

I expect a ratio of something like 80:20 in favour of the 4.7" model. I doubt Apple will release a breakdown of each model's sales (As they didn't with 5S/5C) but I still think the 4.7" alone will be the best selling smartphone of all time.

I have no crystal ball, but I strongly suspect that iPhone6+ number to be higher than 20% of the newer phones sold.

Last year there were some third party numbers released re 5S vs 5C sales, so we'll probably find out soon enough how the numbers break down.

Time to switch on your sarcasm detector….. He was being facetious…..

Not really. While it is amazing what they manage to do with high end products, Samsung sells more phones in more countries, more carriers and has faster rollouts.

Faster roll outs? It is easier to rollout a product when demand is 10,000 units

5.5" is a fine size, but when I start imagining myself making a call and raising it to my ear ... Damn ... It's a ****ing brick. Then you realize.

I think am going to switch to a Nexus or LG G3 .

The price for the iPhone 6 16GB is 700 euros .
I can get two lg g3s for that price that's just ridiculous .

The only thing that sounded interesting or rather heard like distinguishes the iPhone from the rest was the camera sensor and a8 chip.

Truth is the magic camera sensor can be found in other phones , apple just explained how it works , thanks for that .
And the a8 comes with 1gb ram. I don't want to spend the money for two phones on an iPhone and struggle with ram after a year or two when updating to ios9.

I think the iPhone 5c (and the dot cases if you remember) was the first sign of decline. And at least the apple watch seems to be the next sign.

Apple tries to cover their failures . Best example is that they tried to convince us by saying the iPhone is the number one selling phone out there (5c and 5s summed up together)

Now ask yourself how many Galaxy's Samsung has sold . ( basically any device from them is called a galaxy)

Actually in the us, the 5s and 5c, independently outsell any other phone. Meaning they are number 1 and number 2 on the sales chart. There is no trickery going on. Enjoy your lg phone. It is worth about half on an iPhone so that it costs half as much makes sense. Although in three years if you try to sell it, it will go for about 8% of what you would get reselling the iPhone.

I wasn't even arguing that. Apple do product 'launches' better than anyone else. What the rest of the industry do is announce then wait months before releasing. By then they have fully run out of steam and something better has already been announced. Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 4 last week and it still won't be available to buy until next month, by then everyone would might have purchased a GN4 would buy the iP6+

Look at the moto 360. Announced months ago and finally arrives in a more mature competitive environment and underwhelms massively.

Yeah but the moto 360 is partially round!

...and yet every year there's the same phoney rumors about supply constraints.

Not phoney. Nobody else in the business has a fraction of the demand for a newly lunched iPhone and it is a huge spike over apple's normal supply chain. It takes an extraordinary effort to meet that demand spike without having over built infrastructure for the rest of the year. It is an extremely fine line, that only apple even has to worry about.

how can you buy 2 LG G3s with 700 euro?? it costs $600?

Certainly not expecting the launch day numbers they had last year. There are a lot of people on these boards taking the "I want to physically handle both of them before deciding which one to buy" approach. Myself included. I'll wait until the hysteria dies down and I can actually get into a retail establishment to see them.

I expect launch day numbers to be far greater than last year

Thinness has nothing to do with it. It's how wide and tall it is that matters.

Thinnes is my #1 feature i look for in products

All while everyone is gaga about getting one now, I will be in the Maldives hoping nobody calls me. With that many being made, I am sure I will not miss one should I decide and find time to get one.

I stayed up late last night and pre-ordered my iPhone 6 plus at the exact moment it became available (12:01 PST). However, my confirmation email estimates the shipping date as out 3-4 weeks (not the 1 week I was expecting).

I'm a little frustrated, but due to the rumors that there were supply chain issues with the 6+, I'm not TOO suprised.

Then you will become a "tick" upgrader this time, as I strongly assume the 6S will look nearly exactly like the 6. ;)

I am upgrading from a 4S, which will be a huge jump, and I like the looks of the 6 a lot, so I'm lucky. :D

It looks that way. Enjoy your new phone, I'm sure you'll love it. The 4/4S still the prettiest phone apple have made imho.

I've seen polls that suggest about a 3:2 in favour of the 6plus. Personally getting the plus but feel like the larger size is right at the point that people will think about size requirements as it's large enough to put most women off.

I am a woman and I want the 6Plus. :) Apparently I'm not part of most women. :p

I would think a woman would be more apt to want the larger phone, why not?
Most women have some kind of a purse so I wouldn't think it would be as much of an issue as it is for a man to have a phablet.
I upgraded from a 4s to a 6 and I'm not going to upgrade to bigger pants and shirts as well!
I didn't lose weight so I could wear bigger clothes!
so Ill make do with the hip holster for this thing:)

Well, to give credit where it is due Samsung would most likely manage this a lot better. Controlling the production is there strong suite, since they produce so much of their components themselves. They also have the ability to make out multiple versions of the phone where they control the SOC and therefore are able to offload a huge supply with non-flagship SOC's off to markets that are less competitive. Apple on the other hand is slowly getting a grip on its supplier base after seeing an outrageous increase in demand launch after launch. 80 Million would be a very good number, but then they would have to begin working on production for the 7 in less then 2 years where the projected number may be in the 100+ million mark :).
