I saw the add on the TV just a little bit ago. It may be a bit smarmy but I actually liked it. :)

However, it took it more as a shrug than as smarmy. I've grown weary of the "My peni ... er ... phone is better than yours" retoric. I have a phone that does what I want it to do. On top of that it integrates into the TV, computer and soon to be tablet. I'm sure there are people just has happy with their non-iOS phone. That's great! Enjoy it the back and forth bickering is tired. Unfortunately this is the internet so tired will continue.

Now I jus need to figure out what to do with my old ePad.

I usually love Apple ads but these made me cringe. The tone is just so smug - I think it leaves the viewer with a similar feeling to those funny but pretty snide Microsoft ads that ended with someone distastefully proclaiming, "really?" Bad brand move in my opinion. Looking forward to hearing what others think.

yeah, pretty awful. lets hope this attitude doesn't reflect how they feel about the competition, or we'll be getting a very minor upgrade to the iphone this june.

oh, and please ditch that ipad ad music for the new ipad2 ads!

Pretty sure Android users have an Android phone because they wanted an Android phone.

I'm pretty sure you're wrong. I have an Android phone because I live in a weak AT&T area. And the HTC Incredible really sucks hard. My old phone was dying and had little choice but to go Android last year. I wish this P.O.S. phone could do what I just saw in the video.

As soon as I can economically do it, I'm jumping off the Android train wreck.

Most android users already wish they had an iPhone

I'm happy with both of my Gingerbread powered phones (work phone + personal phone). ;)

(On topic)
I think this isn't a bad little set of ads personally.

and people wonder why there is the stigma that if you own an apple product you're a deuche... the stigma comes from Apple... as proven in yet another ad.

I'm just happy my Blackberry's alarm doesn't fail whenever there's a time change!

Most people I know who have a Blackberry can't even find the alarm clock because the thing is so complicated to use.

My roommate has no idea how to set up his alarm.

I tried to help him but I only messed with it for 16 seconds and had to stop because my eyes started bleeding due to the ugliness of the interface.

But one thing is for sure, and may be the reason for these... they will reach people that positively-toned ads won't. The glass is half empty for a lot of people.

Also, a lot of people don't know how different the experience is with an iPhone alternate. I have an Android phone because my area is great for Verizon and my old phone died a year ago. There's a wide difference between what I experience and the ad I just saw.

Not very subtle, but necessary since Android is gaining ground fast.
But to be fair, this is nothing like the merciless grilling of Windows machines in those Justin Long ads.

Haha seriously.

Although I agree apple usually does pros of apple rather than cons of others, but I think it really needs to be pointed out that there are a LOT of awesome apps that are only on iOS. Like the NCAA march madness full streaming is only on iOS. Netflix streaming for the time being is only iOS. Time Warner streaming the same thing. Some of that will change I'm sure, but for now these are major advantages.

What are some other apps or functions we take for granted with iOS that aren't available on android or even remotely possible on blackberries ?

"if you don't have an iphone, well, you don't have an iphone." <<--- 100% Republican sponsored!!!!

Just because Middle Class workers like me can't afford that stupid, outrageous, and ridiculous contract with ATT or Verizon in order to get the iPhone, doesn't mean you (Apple) have to come out and diss us, especially in WI.:D

I'm going to the Milwaukee Apple store right now and protest!!!!;) (well, maybe not right now because its 2am and I have a St.Patrick's Day to go to later on, maybe I'll protest on Friday and the weekend)

Not a fan of these ads. They have a negative tone about them. I prefer "do" rather than "don't" language.

But one thing is for sure, and may be the reason for these... they will reach people that positively-toned ads won't. The glass is half empty for a lot of people.

Felt the same about the negative tone. Your point about reaching other people might be valid also. When seeing ads about what the iPhone can do, many might point out that they can easily do the same things. When you point out what others can’t do, then you start attracting these types of people.

Man, each year Apple does something that just grinds my gears. I think my next PC purchase will be a Windows PC just because Apple's arrogance is becoming sickening.

I wonder why Apple had to air these ads. Wasn't iPhone production not even sufficient to meet demand last year? Do they fear the Android platform?

P.S. I do not have an iPhone but let's see... iTunes, iBooks, App Store,... all check. Have they forgotten the iPod touch and iPad?

These ads are smug, and the 3rd one isn't even true!

If you don't have an iPhone, then you have a MUCH LARGER and LESS EXPENSIVE collection of books with the Amazon Kindle app!

There's absolutely no advantage to Apple's iBookstore AT ALL.

I'm surprised they even brought up such a ridiculous point in a non-effective ad.

Bad ads, all the way around.

Ehhhh. I like my 4, but I'm not this douchey about it. It's a smartphone. It makes calls, it surfs the web, it plays music, it plays games, it abuses the hell out of AT&T's unlimited internet with unofficial tethering, it emulates the GBC and takes pretty pictures.

Android does that too, so I don't see what the fuss is.

If you don't have Android,

You don't get out dated in a month.
You don't experience lag, at all.
You don't have the option to download crappy games and apps.

Yup, if you don't have Android, well.. Thank you, for being brave.

I always notice the text at the bottom of the screen in tiny writing.

Along the lines of: Sequences/steps shown, shortened/removed/speeded up.

I bought a windows laptop last summer; I was to fed up with Apple. Big mistake. Plus I was heavily over priced, for what I thought would be a good laptop. Yes they might have annoying ad's, but that's not why I use them. I use Apple because they make the best products. End of story. If there is a better laptop than a MacBook, tablet than an ipad, phone than an iPhone I'll buy it. In my view though - such products don't exist.

The most amazing part of that commercial is that someone would spend $20 for coffee. You can buy two coffeemakers for that much.

The geeky, anti-Apple Android users don't want iPhones. However, there are many, many Android users who wish they had iPhones — true story. I'm talking about the normal people (not geeks) who have friends with iPhones and they're left out in the cold.

Even nowadays, I see people who are excited because they "finally" got an iPhone instead of Android. I like these ads because, well... they're true.

Sure, you may have a touch screen phone, and sure it might have "apps."
But it's still not an iPhone... Sorry.

Looks like the ads are designed to make the trolls and shills unhappy.

Too bad they did not show the virtual handcuffs that you get with the iPhone.

Too bad a certain knockoff platform's advertisement doesn't show the open wasteland that it is.
