Did any of the Verizon folks actually get the invitation email? I never got one and I cannot confirm my enrollment, says server isn’t working...I never got that email

Done and ready. Those initial steps are so much more stressful when ur doing them at 3am. Glad this was an option this year!! Can’t wait until Friday morn. Let the games begin.

I agree getting most of that out of way should really make the stress level drop and not having to do at that time of morning when you can make more mistakes and servers for approval with loan, carrier and such can bog down will also reduce issues I am hoping.

When I click the link in the confirmation email, I see a message that says "Your iPhone 8 preappoval has expired" I didn't select an iPhone 8 (and the info in the confirmation email is iPhone X ___GB, Space Gray). Anyone else see this when thy click on it?

Same thing happened to me. If you just click through to sign in and view it will show the iPhone X upgrade. Alternatively, click link on your phone and it will show the right details.

Ah so prob better to just pay full on my credit card and when the phone arrives take it into the store and have them move it to the plan. Enrolling always throws me back in line by the time i fill out the credit stuff.
This doesn't work for new enrollment, you have to wait for Friday for that.

Anyone having any problems? When I pre-approve it says citizen's doesn't recognize my SSN.

For those of you who had it add to calendar and such notice in the email you got a few steps to take:

Get a reminder before pre-order
Just go to Settings > Notifications > Apple Store on your iPhone and turn on Allow Notifications. And make sure Do Not Disturb is turned off by going to Settings > Do Not Disturb.

At the bottom of my confirmation email it says “If you want to make changes to the iPhone X model you selected, you’ll be able to do so during pre-order. However, this may affect your delivery estimate.”

Does this mean that they are getting these preapproval orders ready? Hmmm

If they’ll let you... has anyone for that

has anyone done that I meant

Signed up about half an hour ago. I'm on Verizon. Went smoothly except for the fact that my soft fraud alert on my credit (thanks for making me do this, Equifax) didn't result in an immediate approval. Citizens One called me just now and got it resolved. Pretty quick turnaround time.

I did the pre approval but it did not ask whether I want to return my iPhone 7 by mail or do a store pickup. Did anyone else see those options to be chosen?

make sure it is your whole SSN not last 4 digits. Earily the process I swear it asked for last 4 but then later in the process with carrier confirmation it wanted all of them although the description was not clear to me.

Here are the screens from a Forbes article on 8 preapprovals: Note social security number is full in screen 3

I did not see that either in the process but might have been in fine print which I did not read each word. I think since it is online approval and mailing addresses and such they mail it and will just do the mail back after you get your phone. But in an article from Forbes they had the process for 8 preapprovals, the first screen of this portion talks about you having your old phone and it working until you get your new one and it is setup. I assume shortly after that they will (apple) send you the box for old phone.

The article I got this from on Forbes said this: (https://www.forbes.com/sites/anthon...-start-on-pre-ordering-iphone-8/#3d813c616dc7)

"Before you press the Continue button, you can click through to learn more about the trade-in program and make sure your iPhone is in good enough condition to trade in without incurring extra fees. Incidentally, the terms mention the mail-in Trade-in Kit but you don't have an option to select how you want to trade in your existing iPhone during the pre-approval process. I'm guessing that will be part of the cleanup after you actually reserve your new iPhone 8. All I know is I'm excited to not have to set foot in a physical Apple Store on Launch Day!"

Note that I did not read through the details but I guess there was not even with 8's any choosing of options for them mailing you the return box.

No, just means changing phone models takes time so you may get a later estimate based on how long that takes. If you don't change it, the second you log in that phone is placed in delivery cue, but if you change it, it has to wait for you to select and then add that phone to delivery cue.

I got burned on the 7. Got it at 1201 and by the time I did the credit stuff i was 3 weeks behind. They don’t go by when you add it to the cart they go by when everything goes through and is submitted lol.
Yea I’ve done similar stuff they just refund it and resell it on the correct plan etc. without taking the physical phone.

The optimistic part of me interprets this as “you’ll get the model you select” assuming you check out on time (if I read correctly, once you’re pre-approved and go back on pre-order date, it’s in your cart effectively allocating a unit to you until you’ve completed checkout (i.e. a temporarily hold on that product until payment is confirmed, ala ticketmaster, etc.)

The less optimistic part of me reads it less complicated as if you start over the process will take 5-10 minutes thereby setting you back.
