I don't have a 4K TV or the ATV 4K yet, I just have the ATV 4 and a 55" LED 1080p Samsung TV.

So far so good, the Amazon Prime Video is streaming well. Its good, now I'll actually watch Prime Video. I didn't like watching it on my iPad and I really don't like using AirPlay.

With Movies Anywhere most of my Vudu movies can be played directly from iTunes so I can get the 4k version that way!
If you play the movie and swipe down/press the down button (depending on the remote you use) it'll show the actual quality its playing in, if it's not the actual 4K Vudu version/4K Blu Ray Digital redemption, it won't transfer as 4K to iTunes.

Apple and Amazon promised "later this year".

Nothing like waiting til the last minute.

It's been 3 months since I bought my ATV, and helped boost Apple's 4th quarter earnings results, waiting for features I should have had from launch.

I feel so used and dirty.

But Amazon Prime was never promised at launch. How can you feel "used" waiting for features that never had a specific launch date and also out of Apple's control? Also, no, your ATV purchase did not boost Apple's 4Q revenue. ATV sales are a blip on Apple's revenue sheet. It's the razor stick to the iTunes/Apple Music blade.

Meanwhile over at YouTube.....

Haha...but ask yourself...who owns YouTube??? :D

Come on, what reasonable basis do you have for feeling "so used and dirty"? It's the first week in December. A lot of these promises never happen, period. This is great news. Instead of complaining, just enjoy it?

Haha, no kidding! What is up with that? How hard could it be?

There’s been at least one update since the X arrived, each time I’ve looked at the patch notes expectantly...then been disappointed.

I use a Voyage most of the time, but the iPhone app is handy in a pinch when Im not carrying it.

True. But if you bought it in UHD on VUDU, it will transfer to iTunes as 4K. Which means the list of movies that are UHD only in VUDU and not in iTunes is very short. I know of Silence of the Lambs. Are there any more?

I’ve also noticed that “Up Next” always shows the latest episodes of my shows, even when I have multiple episodes of a particular show to catch up on. So if I click on the show, it skips those back episodes and takes me immediately to the latest one.

Little UI issues like that prevent it from being great. There’s still no good central place to keep track of all the various shows on different services. It’s a shame.
Mine has never done this. It always shows what’s next, unwatched. Not most recent.

I'm just so happy I can watch Unsolved Mysteries.

Aside form that, their "original" shows all suck and they don't have much else.

But I'm glad it's here. Finally.
I have a pair of rabbit ears connected to my new 4k set and can watch dozens of channels - including one that shows Unsolved Mysteries for free!

Any Disney 4K movie. (Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, etc.)

True again, but "any Disney 4K movie" is literally just the two you listed? So we're literally talking 3 movies at this point in time. I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice to have 4K support, but if I really get a hankering to watch those particular 3 movies in 4K via VUDU, I can use the Xbox One X.
[doublepost=1512584228][/doublepost]Anyone wanna take a bunch of old Roku boxes and sticks off my hands :p

Totally, not disagreeing with you. You asked how many more movies, and I answered. Also, just remembered and Cars 3 is also one. Originally, I was stating that it had to be a 4K UHD purchase or redemption from Vudu to transfer to iTunes in 4K.

Just clarifying for people so they don't get the wrong idea that iTunes will upgrade an HD purchase or redemption done on Vudu, then transferred over via Movies Anywhere.

This is great! As I spend most of my time on Netlifx, HBO, Amazon prime video, and playstation vue, it is great to finally have all of these option on my Apple TV!
Indeed. I guess we’ll need to move the bed to the living room.

Yep, that's always a good reminder. And, I can't get the code from the UHD of Cars 3 to play back in UHD in any way, shape or form. You?

I don't actually have it, but are you trying to play it back on Vudu? Which device are you using?

I have the X Box One X, and it plays back Silence of the Lambs back fine in 4K. The problem is that you can't redeem the UHD Cars 3 code via Movies Anywhere/VUDU and get 4K rights, it only shows HDX. So if you really want to watch a streaming version of Cars 3 in 4K, it appears you have to actually buy it from VUDU for $25.

^^Sorry for slightly off topic, carry on.

I believe it also did this for Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2, where you had to buy it in 4K digitally instead of the digital code that came with it giving you the 4K UHD version.

Interesting that you chose to show a Star Wars thumbnail image for this article...a movie that is most assuredly NOT in 4K nor HDR on the Apple TV. Thanks, Disney!
