Apple would never align with Hyundai for an End User vehicle (it simply wouldn't sell well), so it must be for some Private OR Public Transportation vehicle, perhaps even a Sub-based solution.

You know who needs an improved solution ?

The elderly !

I'll bet their going after that market, & IMO, it would be very wise of them to do so !

Of ALL its target markets, the Apple Watch is already a Best Fit for the elderly !
Apple Train or Apple Bus, I like it. :)

While I agree with you the elderly need better solutions the Apple Watch is hardly well designed to address their needs, other than fall protection. The crown is small, the app display is also small and hard to read, even in list mode, etc. If you want to see how hard it is to use, try wearing some thicker gloves and glass that blur your vision a bit.

I highly doubt they would align themselves with a company who puts out garbage.
You are incorrect, Hyundai vehicles are extremely efficient like most apple products. That being said to be honest about elitism I have bought Apple products that have been very poorly made. Face ID comes to mind for a design flaw disaster. Nothing is perfect

Hyundai - really ?

I can only speak for myself, but I am on my fourth Hyundai (2021 Sonata Limited) and they have all been great (previous models were a 2011 Elanta Limited, 2014 Elantra GT and 2017 Sonata Limited Sport).

Yup, and they are called Genesis.

And they are very favorably compared to Lexus (Toyota) and indeed are said to be doing to Lexus what Lexus did to Mercedes and BMW when they entered the market.

I just do not drive enough to warrant the expense, otherwise the G80 would be on my short-list.

From what I've heard the Palisade/Telluride models are really, really good, like almost X7 good (from someone that moved from an X7 to a Telluride).

Given the current price points, that means that Apple's MSRP might start at 50k so they can make a decent profit. Plus they can contract with Hyundai for service.

Why not? They might be the only one willing to do what Apple demands? They have issue with their engines, but cars are well made. I owned one. Who heard of Foxcon before the iPhones?

Only everyone in the tech industry.

Foxconn built most of the smartphones before the iPhone was launched. They assembled for Dell and HP. They made most of the connectors on motherboards. Intel-branded motherboards were made by Foxconn.

This thread and the other one discussing Apple and Hyundai working together is proof that a lot of folks buy Apple products just for the shiny cool factor even though when this topic comes up everyone says that nobody does that. The only thing making this move controversial for some is that Hyundai is not seen as a cool brand.

If it's built according to the Apple specs and build quality requirements, what's the problem? Car manufacturers work together all the time. Depending where you live in the world, a fancy Mercedes can come with a Renault engine and the overwhelming majority of people don't know that.

Solid looking cars!

I don't like that Apple is trying to be in every business that it can be. I want them to just focus on making the best computers. The phone, watch, tablet - these are all computing devices. Why does Apple need to make hardware that has nothing to do with computers? I know there will probably be some kind of computer in the car, but it's not really the same thing.

Same thing with HomePod, like I just don't see why they need to be making that when there are several other companies they could partner with on design who make the exact same product. Apple fans will tell you that the HomePod is the best smart speaker they have every owned or whatever, but everyone knows there is really nothing unique about the product, it's just a good rendition of the same thing made by several other companies such as Sonos, Bose, JBL, etc. I understand some projects like AirPods - since they are so essential to using the iPhone that it would feel strange of Apple didn't have their own product in that line.

Surprised by the negative tone of reactions to Hyundai, which is a massive conglomerate making excellent vehicles that sell in high volumes around the world. I know they don’t have the cachet of a traditional luxury brand, but you cannot objectively argue that overall they make bad or unreliable vehicles when there are tens of millions of buyers and car reviewers who seem perfectly happy with their products.

There is theory and then there is reality.

Why do you think Wistron is relegated to manufacturing iPhone SE in India while Foxconn gets to make iPhone 12 in China?
