I ordered Office 2004 from Amazon at 9am EST and it ships from Amazon on the 26th. They should've been more clear to people who ordered later that they may not be able to get the rebate.
A question from someone suffering from the Amazon.com late ship date:
I bought office 2004 from amazon.com today and received a ship date well after december 23. However, I already have a copy of office 2004. What if I sent in the front cover of THAT instruction manual and the receipt from the new copy? Or would microsoft check with amazon and see that I still hadn't received my new copy?
Thanks for the help!

Well, it's Saturday and I can finally get through to Mac Mall's site. It seems they've actually LOWERED the overall price of the MacBook Pro to match Amazon (now $1749 after rebate instead of $1779) PLUS you still get the free (after rebate) case, printer and Parallels (or Fusion for $20 after rebate).
My only problem now is that I really don't want a lousy 120GB hard drive in my MacBook Pro. On Apple's site you can upgrade the thing easily enough, but they don't have these deals there. I see an option on Mac Mall to have them upgrade your memory for you to either 3 or 4GB, so why don't they have an option to install a larger hard drive for you? I'd like a 250, ideally. 120 is terribly small for going on 2008, IMO and while I could use an external or network drive at home, the whole point of a Notebook is portability so I'd like a larger one internal for on the go (not have to lug one with me).
I assume if I change out the hard drive myself I'm looking at voiding the warranty, so what are my options?
I'm going to look around some other Mac stores and see if they have any deals with upgrade options. I only want the 2.2GHz Mac with 128 video memory because it's $500 cheaper than 2.4 with 160. That's only 9% faster (tests show no advantage to the extra video memory under normal conditions) and only a lousy extra 40GB of space. It's a $75 option to get the 160 on the 2.2 at Apple's site. I'd rather have a 2.2 with 160 than a 2.4 at that rate, but there is no such option on MacMall or Amazon.
Update:
Other World Computing has a 200GB 7200 RPM Hitachi for $214.99 plus they'll give you $40 back on your 120GB MBP drive. That seems like the way to go ($1925 total after rebates for a MBP 2.2 with 200@7200RPM drive an 2GB of memory), but is that going to void the Apple warranty?
They'll do it for you by request ( phone order, of course ). The last I knew it was $39.95 plus the part. I can't find anything to confirm it on their web site, so you'd have to ask. Anywho... A 200GB Seagate Momentus 2.5" ( notebook ) SATA drive with 16MB cache and running at 7,200RPM is $210 or a Hitachi Travelstar with the same features for $205 or a 250GB Hitachi Travelstar 2.5" ( notebook ) SATA drive with 8MB cache and running at 5,400RPM for $193 all from MacMall. The last two being some of the best in performance. The 250GB has such a high data density, that it should be notably faster than even the 120GB stock drive at 5,400RPM. While Hitachi may have slightly better fperformance and slightly less power consumption than comparable speced Seagate drives, Seagate's 5-year limited warranty is always nice for those who plan to keep the machine / drive that long.Well, it's Saturday and I can finally get through to Mac Mall's site. News to me. Anywho.. The MB hard drive is so easy to get at.I just called them and after waiting over 12 minutes to talk to someone, they told me they can only upgrade the memory (for 2x what I can do for myself by ordering the chips from Other World Computing and getting a $20 rebate back on the original chips) but they CANNOT do it for the hard drive as this will invalidate the warranty (odd for an authorized reseller; maybe they're not authorized repair/service, only reselling?).

If they had just designed the thing like they did the Macbook, you could easily change it yourself without voiding the warranty.
