i think its pretty hard to have an unbiased debate about the results on a forum like this.

I love this logic. Its basically "but Apple isnt perfect". Or "guy A is not perfect" or "company A is not perfect"

Like this invalidates all conversation about, or wrong doing by anybody else. So brilliant....

Chill out dude.

Your conclusion is wrong. I'm not saying "But Apple isn't perfect".
My first post was regarding Apple's last sentence which said "We applaud the court for finding Samsung’s behavior willful and for sending a loud and clear message that stealing isn’t right" , when Apple had stolen a lot of things themselves.

What Apple meant to say is "stealing is okay, unless you get caught".

I never said it invalidates anything, I just think that it's ironic coming from a company whose CEO said that they have been "shameless in stealing".

Agreed.

My god, people like you are why this country if failing in every way.

I guess by your logic, everything you own is LEGALLY yours, but I should be able to steal it from you with no worry of reprocusions right? You shouldnt be allowed to own anything right ?

You = massive fail

No, you misunderstand me. Assuming that the pinch-to-zoom patent is legally valid, its validity under current law does not mean that it SHOULD be valid. This next example is extreme and in no way meant to construed as a comparable in severity to this issue: in the Ultimate Marvel universe, it is legal to kill a mutant (i.e., X-Men) just because they are a mutant. Does that mean it should be legal? Of course not. Do you see what I mean now?

Like Apple made many things that didn't exist. Like a smartphone. Oh, wait, someone else did it before them. Well Apple made the first tablet. Oh, wait, tablets existed long before the iPad. Apple made the first, super-thin computer, the Macbook Air. Oh wait, the Sony Vaio Z was around long before the MBA. Well Apple invented the iPod, the first portable music player. Oh, wait.........

Is this the kind of innovation you are talking about?

In a word - No.

Innovation is about ideas, not inventions. Something may already exist, but to build a new version of it in a new way, simpler, more fun to use, not a lavish copy... that's innovation. It's about evolving that product (or service) into something new and better. Apple has invented a lot of things, but they have also evolved a lot of things. Your examples are all missing the point.

I forgot the "not" between "does" and "mean". I was trying to point out that just because the law says one thing it does not mean it is the right thing.

In any case one person's idea of what is right is probably completely different than someone else's idea of what is right. Just ask anyone in jail!

Yep. I agree with Samsung. Apple is being a straight bully.

Not really. Early Android phones all had a "button bar" below the screen.. The Android UI followed different rules as well. Then iPhone. Samsung (prodded by Google) tried to get as absolutely close to the iPhone line without going over... They goofed. The jury slammed them for it.

How is that different than blindly buying an iPhone as millions of consumers do, just because it was made by Apple. Most don't much about it at all.

I have used S2, S3, Nexus, iPhone 3GS, iPhone4 and I can easily say that the iphone is the more superior phone in terms of performance and general usability.

And how do you see Samsung's phones as a lavish copy of the iPhone? Or did Apple really invent the rectangle?

----------

Yeah, you're right. Apple copied everything. What did Samsung "invent"?

Nothing. They copied. Just like Apple.

That argument is so inappropriate. People always reference Xerox when using this one. Everyone gets their inspiration from others. I know of nothing Apple has done in the past that would excuse what Samsung just did. As far as Xerox is concerned, Apple paid them 10 million to get shown their tech. You know something I don't?

To all the people against Apple. You got serious balls still commenting about it after it is settled by a judge. Just face it. Samsung are thieves lol. Samsung even have documents telling everyone that they are thieves. Why is that not enough for you. Did you ever wonder why this case was closed in such a short time in Apple's favour? Come on, a bit of common sense is needed.

And you'll find people on this forum who have owned both and say the complete opposite, especially concerning the SIII. Who is wrong, you or them?

I wouldn't even bother replying to the Apple haters mate. They are all over this forum right now just to keep their mind occupied so they don't fall into a deep depression over their technological religious beliefs :p

Ask Ayn Rand, then see what happens. You'll be called everything from a collectivist to evil to immoral to irrational.

If you want to put it that way you shouldn't be questioning my thoughts then either \.

I will keep an eye on what Apple will continue to attack other companies in terms of patent. this is only working in the US. don't open wine yet, apple. in Europe, Asia, they have different law. what if they could ban to sell apple products because of patent? then Apple will get back to 1997 again. just think about it Apple. you made a big mistake for a long term. if Apple will continue to cut their competitors, nobody will work with or help if they need. pity, Apple will be outcast in business. just learn how MS does. Apple needs to appreciate for their success why. stop fighting against stupid patents. I am sick of it.

I'm not criticizing you. I commented on your post. Other than in Appleland, the S3 is considered the more advanced phone. That may change in a couple of weeks with the new iPhone.
