So the phones are underwhelming, but I will probably get the series 3 watch.

Pretty phone. Too much money by about 150.00, even in base config.

...and in other news: Apple is still playing the s****y little game whereby you either buy your phone with inadequate storage capacity, or you pay through the nose for more than you are likely to need. There is a manipulative side of how apple specs some of their products - this particular maneuver is getting old; the same routine plays out with the skimpy ram vs. plentiful RAM with commensurate $tiffing that one encounters when buying laptops and some pads.

In the UK they only change de $ for £; a joke! (iPhone X 64 Gb is $999 in the US, £999 in the UK)

I guess I'll stick with my iPhone 7 Red... not worth the money to upgrade to the X (the 8 is almost the same, mini minor tweaks)

Too much focus on the Animoji, specially the poop one... A sign that their presentation was exactly that, poop

I'm actually more impressed about the way Apple use the edge to edge display. No on-screen buttons, all with gestures. Google can learn from that. I really hate the ugly implementation of Android with on-screen buttons.

Very similar to BlackBerry 10, circa January 2013. Swipe up to unlock even from a blank screen, swipe up for multitasking, slide from the left to go back in apps, swipe from the top to get system toggles or settings, etc. I always loved how BB10 worked from that standpoint, no home button taking up space on the screen or bezel and it works very smoothly. Had a couple Z10's and now a BB Classic I keep around for the OS and as a spare and I still enjoy using it.

Glad Apple took it and ran with it as I like this implementation.

I have not posted here in a very long time but after today announcement I feel compelled. Sadly, after last year's mediocre introduction of the iPhone 7 I decided to keep the 6S Plus as I felt the 7 was incremental at best. I feel no differently today, in fact I could say I'm even less enthusiastic than ever.

The X is a joke with the ugly notch and flakey Face ID. Starting with only 64GB raises the price for me as I need at least 128GB.. This makes the X a $250 premium over the 8 Plus with really no functional gains.

Disappointed.

What are the physical dimensions of the iPhone X?

Will developers have to re-write all their apps that leveraged Touch ID for Face ID? Two versions of their apps?
Height: 5.65 inches (143.6 mm)

Width: 2.79 inches (70.9 mm)

Depth: 0.30 inch (7.7 mm)

Weight: 6.14 ounces (174 grams)

I scrolled through many many comments. Yours is the qui

Yeb. S8 is a joke. Seriously Samsung is a very lazy sales-oriented company.

If u cannot tell the difference between face id and stupid useless Samsung face recognition, then go buy the hideous samsung s8 with fingerprint scan in the back. U will learn something soon

the S8 has the iris scanner as the most secure way to unlock.

I don't understand what Apple was thinking with the launch of the iPhone 8 and 8S. should've just gone with the X. I wish we could bring Steve Jobs back because innovation has has been despicable since Tim Cook took over.
Instead of 2 new phones maybe could be cheaper with just producing one model.

Wow I've never seen so many negative comments on a new IPhone, especially one that Apple is going to push hard due to the pricing...Anyway my thoughts:

1)Looks like a beta device to me
2)Face ID seems slower than Touch ID, no thanks
3)That notch, ughhh no thanks

Gotta agree on the beta device comment. I'm also wondering what the graphical performance would be like- considering how the 8 and the X seem to share the same apple developed GPU- I'd imagine the 8 would perform (potentially) better considering it has half the number of pixels to drive.

Also, anyone else thinks that the whole swipe up to close apps gesture seems like an accident waiting to happen? (sleek phone, dry hands, upward motion.. you get the drift)

Oh wait, and SGD$1888 for a 256GB phone? That's mad! I truly have loved my apple products through and through, but that seems a but much even for me.

Ok, so I was really looking forward to the iPhone X, but what a let down. This has got to be a joke. My current LG G3 that I've had for almost 3 years now, is still better than this phone. It has smaller bezels, no ugly ass notch, a 5.5" screen (which is plenty big), tap to wake, kick ass camera that is always better than any of my friends iPhones, I STILL have all day battery life and i've been able to wireless charge for 3 years! Oh, and I got my LG G3 at the time for FREE via my carriers subsidy. What the hell Apple?!?!? I really, really wanted to come back to you for my new phone. Now that my current iPad has finally conked out, I will no longer own a single Apple product. I don't care what anyone says, Steve would have never let that thing out the door with that ugly ass notch! And animoji's, really ? Keep on ****in' that Chicken Apple!

No TouchID and no home button, no buy. They could've made a solution similar to galaxy s8 with the home button.

What, you mean put it on the back? No. Just no. It works so crappy on the back of the s8 I've switched to using their unreliable and unsafe facial recognition for everything.

I'm wondering what will be the number of the next year iPhones. iPhone XI? Surely not iPhone XS.
Or they'll release two iPhone 9 models and one updated iPhone X with the same name. That'd be the most elegant solution. This way in 2019 they could move to two iPhone X models and call them iPhone 11 or something like that. Or they could stick with the same X name until they redesign the phone.
