Am I the only one who doesn't like how the new gestures for the iPhone X work? I mean, I like to access Control Centre from the bottom, not from the top. And with that size, is almost impossible to operate it with one hand...

My thought, too. Maybe you can doubble tap on lower screen area to archive same effect as currently on home button? or simply swipe down (gesture) in lower screen area – or 3D touch-down-press-while-swipe-down-area-AND-face-ID … : D

Hope they tested it with glasses on. My glasses turn dark out in the sun. If I can't unlock the phone outdoors, I'll return the damn thing for sure.

My thoughts exactly. I love everything about it except that. I'm a symmetry freak, so I think that's what it is.

Is IS super symmetric: if you mirror vertically... top notch! Don't know what you are complaining about.

I don't know why I'm just not excited about this phone. It has nearly the same internals as the 8, which IMO is a nicer design. FaceID looks pretty clunky to use compared with TouchID. And I don't really like the cutout at the top. I was really hoping for a new SE model. Ah well, can't please everyone, I guess....

Exactly my thoughts. I can think of hundreds of situations where this wouldn't be ideal or work at all. In the dark, sunglasses, shave my beard, laying on a table etc etc. I'm going to stick with iPhone 8 (from 6s) and then reconsider Apple in general after a few years

I think they will go back to TouchID next year. The primary reason of missing on-screen TouchID on X is engineering difficulties.

So when does the iPhone SE get a refresh? Because I have no interest in a 5.8" monster cell phone. Even the 4.7" [6, 7, & 8] are too big to hold in, rather than on, my hand. I was hoping they'd give a nod to the small phone legion, but I'm glad I didn't hold my breath. *sigh*

Next year if the rumors hold true. Same form factor, some old big bezel display, a fraction better camera and a fraction speedier. Same high price

Have you not tried to unlock your TouchID phone with wet fingers, gloves on, or with a dusting of flour after baking? There are plenty of scenarios where TouchID fails and FaceID would be far superior.

I also call BS on their claim a face is more unique than a finger print, how often do hear I seen someone that looks just like you.

I have always thought finger prints are all different

That's what I always thought and of course you have some people who have a "curious" twin as referenced in the introduction.

Apple doesn't really innovate anymore in terms of killer features like they use to or at least it seems they're happy playing catch up with the best on offer from Android.
