Don't drink the Apple Kool-Aid on this one. From a usability standpoint, I would much rather have buttons, thank you very much. Granted, I'm a bit of a tech-head and know what it is I'm doing, but I shudder to think how something like this would effect someone like my mother.
What have you been smoking. It's not that hard to learn your mother how to use those gestures. Imagine a couple years ago that your mother would been using a smartphone. People forget how easily humans can learn new things. Even your mother probably. From tech perspective it's great how Apple are using the full screen.

Looks like LG came out with the edge to edge first, and Samsung came out with the facial recognition first in the S8.

Though not a surprise as Samsung and LG are making the displays for Apple.

Iphone X is a bit of a dissapointment really. Yes it has great technology, but its not going to revolutionize the smartphone. Its still a black monolith and the top notch is a bit annoying.

The name is awkward too, where is iphone 9? What will they do next? Iphone 9 in 2018, or iphone 11. Or iphone 9 and then iphone 10 but not X

It's impressive. But when you look at the jumps from 3GS to 4, 4s to 5... this is no bigger jump from the 7.

Apple have basically bundled what is essentially an evolutionary product and positioned it as revolutionary with an unjustified price tag.

I've had iPhones for 8 years and there was nothing today I want to spend my money on.
