So what's so special about this thing that you can't do with an iPhone 6s or 8? Cool, it has a 5.8" screen. But it still runs iOS which means you can't do many useful things with it and it's treated and used in pretty much the same way as an iPhone 6s. A 2 year old device.

"Unless you have an identical twin" you see, TouchID doesn't care about that since even identical twins have different finger prints. So there's that. Now we're waiting for a price.

edit aaaaaand it's $1000. $1000 for a ****ing phone. What a joke.

I also call BS on their claim a face is more unique than a finger print, how often do hear I seen someone that looks just like you.

I have always thought finger prints are all different

$1000. $1000 for a bloody smartphone that doesn't do anything better than a 6s.

Nice phone although the camera bar notch is pretty ugly. The hyperbole was a bit much this time around, however. I don't see anything particularly revolutionary about iPhone X. It's a great phone and Face ID is compelling new tech, but defining the next decade of smart phone development? Really?

Everything announced today was a clear step forward, but I didn't find anything particularly revolutionary or exciting.

Iphone X is a bit of a dissapointment really. Yes it has great technology, but its not going to revolutionize the smartphone. Its still a black monolith and the top notch is a bit annoying.

The name is awkward too, where is iphone 9? What will they do next? Iphone 9 in 2018, or iphone 11. Or iphone 9 and then iphone 10 but not X

they had to follow microsoft's lead and skip the 9, maybe it is a computer geek omen to use a 9

So how do you access control center if you swipe up to go home and swipe up and hold for multitasking? This is an interesting design.

Nevermind, swipe down from top.
Going to be confusing having different sets of gestures for the two phone lines.

Really stumped they didn't offer an iPhone X Plus. Maybe next year...

It isn't about being unique, its about how well the sensor can differentiate fingerprints. Everyone is unique but the differences can be THAT subtle.

Yawn......

Glad to see Apple has their priorities straight. Focusing their time and attention on face gesture-activated emojis was obviously a prudent use of their resources, much like the emoji touchbar on the MacBook Pros no one asked for...

Apple's innovation as of late reminds me more and more of a poop emoji.
