I thought this was supposed to be a Christmas surprise for EVERYONE. Well it’s a surprise for the one-percenters and a great big FU to everyone else!

I held off on buying a few things cause I wanted these headphones and now I feel like Apple is mocking average people like myself. Well I now have to wait further down the road when these don’t fly off the shelf and therefore the price gets lowered.

Come on Apple! Not even an introductory special? I guess Apple thinks the average consumer during the Covid crisis has lost his/her mind and will slap it in the Apple card enabling Apple to make even more money! Dam I wish I had some Apple stock.

Hey look everyone, Apple made a new thing. Guess it's time we open our wallets. If you need to ask how much it is, you're not who they are selling these to.

Here in Europe it's 629Eur ($745, but includes tax)...

Will need to see the reviews and hear that they make you feel like you're in heaven before upgrading my Sony wh-1000xm3 given that price

They also have a wire so you don't lose any fidelity over bluetooth.

Audio over bluetooth either has high latency or poor quality, pick one.
So do these? They have a lightning port. I literally got a 3.5mm to lightning as a suggested accessory when going through the order process. Obviously can't slam it in my phone without another adapter but I don't think people interested in having a wired option don't play wired music from their phones anyway.

If you bought AirPods or AirPods Pro, I cringe on your behalf. You look ridiculous on the street and you overpaid by 90%. Earphones you can get from a dollar store are better quality and sound just as good. If you buy one of these things, I have no words for you. Seriously.

Howwww much??!

I’ve always defended paying a premium for Apple stuff in the past, but this blows my mind lol

I felt guilty buying my Bose QC35s for £250, and they’re almost perfect for me. How can these possibly be £300 better?? Mad.

These are crazy overpriced especially in 2020. There are so many better options for the same price or less and I thought the Magic Keyboard was overpriced which is a really awesome product.

I don't understand who are targeted buyers for this. Too expensive to non-audiophiles, and not able to play lossless is a massive dealbreaker for audiophiles who actually pay this amount of money for headphones. Apple is clueless.
Audiophiles usually buy higher end headphones in the $1000+ range. This is for people who are looking for a premium version of $300 to $400 NC headphones, which is still very high but not too crazy. Judging by the sound they've managed to push out of the HomePods it'll likely sound very good as well.

More expensive than Sony, Bose, B&O, Bowers & WIlkins, Master & Dynamic, Sennheiser. Who do Apple think their competition is here? The sweet spot looks to be in the £300-£499 range for devices clad in leather no less, vs, string? Plus, £50 more expensive in the UK (taking UK VAT into account)

I'd buy it only if it has an audio port. Doesn't look like it does?

EDIT
Whoops, looks like you can purchase an adaptor. But for an EXTRA $35? I'm out.

I can't seem to find out how they charge for sure, but with the included lightning cable I'm guessing its that way. That is a disappointment. Was hoping they'd charge with USB-C. That only reaffirms that Apple is content to sticking with Lightning for awhile longer.
