So when the battery no longer holds a charge do these become as worthless as my first generation AirPods? And no professional is going to use Bluetooth headphones, especially if they have “computational audio” it’s clear that these are meant for the iJustine YouTube influencer market dummy’s.
You can also plug them in via standard lightening to headphone jack (of course an additional $$ accessory).

I bought 1k< headphones more than once, but none was limited to lossy files. :D

I mean, this has two M1 chips, why the heck Apple didn't use this to full potential? They could've have Airplay 2, and solid DAC, and lot of things. This way, they are just a toy for noobs.
Is the limitation for lossy files confirmed? It does support a wired connection.

These are gonna flop like the HomePod did until they lowered their price tag.

I find it interesting how pricing on Apple products plays out. These new headphones seem expensive at $550, and the new M1 MacBook Air seems cheap at $1k, especially when you compare the two. Would 2 sets of AirPod Max’s really be worth one MacBook Air or Pro? The headphones are really only good for listening to things, vs an actual computer with screen.

This is ridiculous. No amount of AirPods would be worth a single PowerBook G5 if what you needed was a computer to do computing on. That's not how value or pricing works at all.

Digital Crown for volume control? Can’t they use the technology in the Magic Mouse so the AirPods Max can do touch controls? Seems likely they’re saving that for a future iteration of the headphones even if they were able to do it for this first gen model.

Apple probably doesn’t intend to sell too many of these.

It feels like a price anchoring product to me, intended to make the current AirPods line up look cheap by comparison.
Doesn't really make sense when AirPods have been one of their top-performing product categories.

Too cheap. I don't buy any Apple Products under $1000 anymore.

My next charger (that's environmentally not supplied with the $1000+ device anymore) I'll buy for $1000 too! Same as my monitor stand (so I don't have to lie it on the ground) or my Macbook Wheels. Give it to me Tim!

Wait, are you saying there are MacBook wheels out there?!? OMG, excuse me everybody, gotta go!
Hehe.

I just saw that PURSE of a case. Looks awful!

can you hear the tsunami of hate-filled rage from the usual suspects? Seriously, shouldn't the haters at least wait until the reviews are in? Its not like these are the most expensive headphones ever made (links later). If they are indeed top-of-the-line for what they offer, they are not overpriced for what they are, just priced higher than most people want to pay for more mediocre (but good enough) headphones.

So for grins and giggles, here are some links. The haters heads should explode on some of these:

Beyerdynamic DT 1990 Pro. $559. https://www.techradar.com/news/audio/portable-audio/best-over-ear-headphones-1280342
Sennheiser HD 800 $1399 (yes, I didn't miss a decimal point) (same as above)

Sony MDRZ1R Signature $1799 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01KOE8DKU?tag=sa0a83-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1

Pioneer SE-MASTER1 $1489-used https://www.amazon.com/Pioneer-SE-M...=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B00YPH79T4

Sennheiser HD 660 S. $469 (on sale!) https://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-H...=2025&creative=165953&creativeASIN=B076HP574T

HIFIMAN HE1000 V2. $2999 (again, no skipped decimal point). https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01I50644C?tag=sa0a83-20&linkCode=osi&th=1&psc=1

So hey, I do get it, $550 is probably more than I will spend for headphones, but....it seems there is a market for better sounding over-ear cans. Just saying, just because you don't want one, doesn't mean someone else might not think they are a deal for what they are.

Oh, and get hung up on bicycle helmet straps. I lost one riding early on. Had to double back to try to find it. Surprisingly the 'find my AirPod app actually helped me narrow down the location. I was surprised...
Helmet I understand but collars? WTH you’re talking about?

I doubt these are for audiophiles though. Where is the 3.5mm jack so I can connect to my tube headphone amplifier? This is for playing compressed Apple Music for Spotify. Does it support streaming uncompressed lossless?
It has a lightening to 3.5" standard cable available for it. Add one to your cart then you will see it listed as a recommended add on.
