From the press release:

Each ear cup attaches to the headband through a revolutionary mechanism that balances and distributes ear cup pressure, and allows it to independently pivot and rotate to fit the unique contours of a user’s head.
It just doesn't look they pivot, or pivot much...

EDIT: They DO. From the video Apple released, the ear cans SWIVEL on the stalk coming out of the bar that slides into the 'canopy'.

Always fun when people based their opinions of an unreleased new Apple product based on "comparable" products.

Maybe try it in person first, then come back and give an informed opinion, rather than speculation based on nothing more than disliking the price.
They're headphones.

I meant pivot vertically. Turning side to side is nice, but pivoting. I mean, look at the picture of the woman. It looks like the 'ear cans' are going to pop her head like a zit.
Also, it looks like there is a pivot mechanism based on this exploded view:

There we go, no need to thank me Apple, I fixed the wrong price tag on your website. *Apple Care+ for headphones is of course not included, just like the charger. #saveTheEnvironment #KillTheWallet

I was interested in these. I think a lot of people were, though regular AirPods are much more convenient.

but at this price, I think we are seeing another original HomePod launch.
Again, I’m sure these are awesome headphones. But most consumers are priced out of that category. I’d rather buy Bose or stick with my AirPods Pro (which at $250 are overpriced but not by this much)

Will see if can deliver high fidelity sound that are claiming. Apple designs for the masses not the true audiophile market. They claim the HomePod has high fidelity sound which does not.
How does one define high fidelity sound? Is there some objective metric?

Someone upstream said the port is only for charging. *shrug*
"This bi-directional cable can be used with both 3.5 mm audio-out and audio-in ports, allowing you to connect your AirPods Max or Beats Solo Pro headphones to 3.5 mm audio sources, or to connect your iOS or iPadOS device to speakers with 3.5 mm audio ports."
Listed in the description of Apple's 3.5mm to lightning cable.

I want to thank Apple for this bargain.

Once the AirPods Pro Max comes out people will understand just how cheap this model is.

Meanwhile Bose is preparing to double their prices.

As far as I can tell these don’t have an option for wired usage, am I right? There is a Lightning/USB-C cable in the box though, but I’m guessing that’s just for charging. Unless it could also make it act like USB-C headphones. Also, why use Lightning to charge and not USB-C?

If someone has more information or I’m wrong please let me know.

Why are the buttons on the top? That seems mega awkward. Why not put them on the bottom?

Also that case is completely pointless 😂 why can’t they be folded up?

The included cable is just for charging.

I bought a pare of Bose once but had to return them because I had to crank the volume to get it anywhere near the level of my existing headphones.

I no longer consider Apple a tech giant but more a well-funded think tank whose sole purpose is to prove PT Barnum was extremely conservative in his estimate.

Happy Holidays from Apple... now give us all your money! No thanks, I’ll stick with my simply named Sony WH-1000XM3’s. Some day will upgrade to the next version of Sony’s. They’ve got me hooked

The lightning port used to charge can be used as an audio input also. Apple actually automatically recommends one of their 3.5mm to lightning cables upon checking out.

Interesting, I didn’t think consumer willingness to pay is this high for headphones. I’m a huge Apple guy but not at this price range. But you never know generally Apple knows what they’re doing. I’ll be watching from the sideline though. I love my Bose QC35 II ($200) even more now.
