why are people surprised by the price? I mean apple already charges what 240$ for AirPods Pro's that sound like absolute garbage 20$ earbuds.
I bet these sound actually good for the price at double the price of the pro earbuds. Too bad no normal person will buy these.

It’s funny how nobody understands what high end cans actually cost. These don’t crack the top 30. It’s like whining about the price of the Pro Display XDR, showing off ignorance about the price of reference monitors. More than my college sophomore holiday budget?? That’s outrageous!! Lmao! The only problem with these headphones, assuming they’re good as I anticipate, is the name, which puts them in the same mental category as AirPods.
High-end cans support lossless, and in fact are designed for them. Do these?

😮😲😵 $59K....umm.
For that price, I better pick up alien life from another galaxy
- (mental image of Jodie Foster in the movie "Contact!")

BUT, maybe the "Coupon Code" on my downpayment of 10K will drop the price a bit??

Have fun pairing your $550 headphones with Apple's new "Sounds and Haptics" feature that lowers your volume to 20% every 15 minutes! What a deal!

Sorry. No interest here. I’ve already got several from Amazon to review. Sony. Bose. Sennheiser. Etc.

Between those and AirPods Pro I’m not sure when I’d use them. Not to mention these new headphones look pretty uncomfortable.

My most expensive pair is about $2100, and I get that some people don't want to spend $550 for a pair of headphones. But at the same time I don't understand why so many would be happy to get them if they were 200 dollar less. If you don't really care about premium headphones, why still get headphones that costs several hundreds dollars acting as that is cheap/affordable/worth the price headphones?
I hope you have a good home stereo system and not some soundbar

These aren't for audiophiles. Audiophiles don't listen to music over bluetooth.

These are for rich, white men looking for a status symbol.

Bet the appeal is far wider than that.
And there is no rule book for audiophiles either. Tech changes sometimes.

They said that about AirPods too...this is Apple, of course they’ll do well.

I honestly don't remember anyone saying that about the original airpods. I remember the price being lower than what many people expected and they were sold out everywhere. These... not so much.

I care about audio quality but there is that thing called Perceived Value. Apple is selling the HomePod for 299$ and it sounds great, why should I pay almost "double" for a headset to sound great? I'm not complaining, I am genuinely trying to figure out why they priced it out of the market for most of their target audience.

They priced it out of the target market?

Surely the target market would be Apple customers? Y’know, people who have gotten used to paying inflated prices for any product with a fruit on it, for up to a couple of decades.

Saw the product - thought: "It probably costs as much as 349 or 399 dollars."

549 here is just 50 dollars shy of the iPhone 11. For headphones.

I was really looking forward to those because I prefer over the ear headphones over any other type of headphone, but this price tag moves them simply out of my reach. Very unfortunate.

I will look into some Beats, Sony or Bose as an alternative. Suggestions are welcome!

FIVE HUNDRED AND FIFTY DOLLARS?

AND IT DOESNT EVEN HAVE A KEYBOARD -Steve Ballmer (probably)

Press photos show each ear cushion labeled with the correct L and R side. So the rumors suggesting it would determine which ear is left and right was wrong.
No, the rumor went wrong. Apple will now tell YOU wish one is
A lot of Apple products seem overpriced but this one definitely takes the cake for me. Wow.

You think the Fed and the government can do

I take it then, you are not an Apple customer? So why are you posting here?

These will flop. They are $250 or more out of range for literally anyone. Even "audiophiles".

If they made only 20 pairs then they might do well.

See, that’s not necessarily true, in my opinion at least. I’ve paid a heck of a lot more for headphones in my time. Whether these turn out to be worth the asking price or not, that’s really the only question that matters. To a lot of people at least.

£549 UK price - the case is included - as is USB-C to lightning cable. £49 for AppleCare+

So. a shade under £600 for them with extended warranty. Granted they look great but I can't help think you'll end up being a target for thieves because these are going to be highly marketed and visible their worth will be very obvious to those who aren't audiophiles.

I'd bet people with £600 Sennheiser/Bose headphones wont be as much a target.

As these are likely used at home for most folks this should be a rather theoretical problem. Those of course who walk everywhere with shiny bling attached to them, different story.
