I'm sticking to my Spotify... Spotify is great, why didn't Apple just buy Spotify??
I'm sure Spotify would have been significantly more expensive than Beats Music's slice of the Beats deal. Also don't forget Apple got Beats headphones with the deal, and the power of Jimmy Iovine and Dre. It actually made a lot of sense.

Anyways, I'm pretty excited about this. Videos and Siri combined with a streaming service is pretty nice. The presentation was a little awkward but I thought it was a little bit adorable that the music folks were kind of bad at public speaking.

Please tell me this is not the new logo:

I personally really dig it. Unimaginative for what it is, but a beautiful icon in itself. Would have been perfect for the Music App.

Yes, please help me.
They happily announced the price but never told me what I get for it?
Pharell tweets?
Can I pick any song I want at any time?
Can I skip over stuff I don't like.
Is the entire iTunes library included?

Save your curated playlist for bullet points at the end and tell me what it really is.

Is iTunes Match going away?

$10 for Radio? I think Tidal just fell off their chairs laughing.

It's painful to watch the demise of Apple. I mean I know they'll go on and may even have a renaissance one day, but they are definitely losing importance with all of these lackluster attempts they've been passing as developments since Steve Jobs died, and the continual degradation of the software, and now even hardware (Mac Mini), under Tim Cook.

They needed a maverick to replace Jobs.

Does this work just like Spotify, where you can create playlist from their library and save it offline?

Edit: http://www.apple.com/music/discover/
Yes, Apple Music is a Spotify clone. You get unlimited access to the entire iTunes library, where you can select songs to "Add to your collection". So long as you keep paying, the music stays in your collection.
Not sure if you can directly add music to playlist, or if you have to save it to your collection before it can be added...

So, what happens to the current iTunes Radio? Is it going away?? It's free, now they want $10/month. Typical Apple greed.

I've got several great iTunes Radio stations set up and I listen to them during the daily commute.

if you already pay for iTunes Match, why would u pay another $10 for this ? Or maybe this is targeted at "instead of"

I still say, content matters. Something with iTunes Match allows you to upload songs. So really, Match has an advantage here.

(hehe,, i can't believe i just said that)

Usual haters on presenters, like most people on this forum could present in front of a worldwide audience with calm and poise a massive project that you worked on for years.

Anyway, Apple figured out that the most effective system of music discovery besides one's friends is radio and implemented tastemaker DJ's to serve up music with the human personality and touch that's worked since the 50's in promoting artists.

The audience laughed when Irvine said that Apple Music is a 'revolutionary music service'. He is a terrible speaker by the way, I actually didn't understand what he was saying most of the time. Good thing Cue is still there.
The audience laughed because he said something similar to what steve said when the iPhone was announced.

They never made clear the music service offers but it's launching soon and you get 3 months free  plenty of time to if I stick with Spotify; really like the family plan pricing.
