The iPhone presentation was terrible, but only because the anti-charisma man Phil Schiller was the presenter. They have got to do something about this guy - everything he says is just booooorrrriiiinnnggggg.

About Apple Watch:
Very impressive in my opinion! A whole new OS with no leaks at all...

Everybody talks about the design, but the real thing is the UI for me. I think that they have done an amazing job! The OS looks very impressive! Many gestures, tricks, and a lot of things that truly feel that this product have been planed for many years. I think that this announcement is pretty similar to the original iPhone announcement in terms of comparing it to the already existing devices - Everybody had the Internet access, keyboards and stuff, but they were all doing it wrong. I truly feel this OS would make this smartwatch a pretty handy device, not like other existing smartwatches.

The design itself is arguable, but i don't think you can say it's ugly. In my opinion it looks good actually. I also think that looking at it through the keynote is pretty lousy, i won't judge it until i'll see it on my wrist.

All in all, pretty impressive day for Apple, definitely a major day for the company.

i'll pass.. $349 and this is just personal preference but the shape isn't really my taste.

I'll just stick with my nike fuelband.. that works perfect for me when I'm in the gym

I was expecting the apple watch be more like a wristband too. This is just terrible.

Thank you for reinforcing my point by pointing out only products where Ive had far more outside feedback.

Notice nobody is copying Ive's more recent designs. Especially his interface design; he's instead copying Microsoft and Google.

Again, thanks for making my point.

Again you are so right. What recent designs are you talking about? iOS. Maybe not, but then there is a general homogenisation here!

Laptops, phones, desktops? Which ones? JI is so far ahead of his time that the MBP has essentially remained unchanged in 7+ years and yet others still haven't matched it.

hmmm should i buy the watch or just get the ipad mini for less... jesus
Seriously. You could almost buy a PS4 for what they're charging for a wristwatch. And Sony is even turning a small profit on the PS4.

Profit margin on the AppleWatch is probably outrageously high. That pricing is a joke.

Wow, so ugly and thick. Wouldn't wear it if it was free.

Well... The first iPhone was a bit like that. There's a remarkable amount of tech in this Apple Watch. I give it two years before we have an "Apple Watch Air".

Dear Apple,

This is how you should charge the :apple: Watch 2.

WiTricity wireless charging

I want to go to sleep, and the resonant magnetic charger on my bed-side table charges the watch on my wrist while I sleep. Of course the same charger can be simultaneously charging my iPhone 7, iPad Air 2/3 and MacBook without me having to remember to plug them in.

...now get to work.

I am extremely disappointed that the iWatch lacks a GPS unit. As a runner, I don't want to carry two devices with me when I run... especially not one of the new larger iPhones. I realize that serious runners make up a small segment of the market for this watch, but it is still seriously disappointing. I will not be purchasing a smart watch until it can function as a standalone device.

:(

I think the watch is suppose to handoff that info to your iphone or mac once you return from your run. The screen is tiny so how much info can they give you on it really???

Tim mentioned he controls his Apple TV with his watch.... Did they show how that works???

Everybody talks about the design, but the real thing is the UI for me.

Like the design, for the first time I don't like an Apple designed UI. Need to see it in person obviously but it seemed confusing, which is so Anti-Apple.

I think it visually looks on par with the latest offerings from the Android world - that are actually available to buy now.

I am very puzzled by the seemingly complex handling of the device though - and the addition of the selector-thingy on the side which seems largely redundant when you have a touch screen right next to it. I think its main purpose is to stand out from the crowd instead of being necessary from a usability point.

This device largely goes against everything that has been holy for Apple when it comes to the interface for iPhone and iPad. And they even talked about letting the user select between lots of different watch faces? That must be considered as pure anarchy for the typical hardcore ('Apple has already made the best selection for me') Apple enthusiast.

My biggest disappointment is the price point, considering an up-to-date iPhone is also required. So it's not a $350 watch. It's at least a $550 watch. I know that Apple is aiming the watch at current iPhone owners. But even so, I wonder how many will want to shell out that kind of money for a device that MUST be used only with an iPhone.

it seemed confusing, which is so Anti-Apple
Just take a look at the text and background colors in iOS 8. Apple is seeming to lose its way in the human interface department.

Design

The watch does a whole lot more than show the time - so its going to be thicker than a slim dress watch. But then again have you seen a Rolex sideways on ? It ain't small.

The idea is to produce a basic " mechanism" that can be dressed a thousand ways to appeal to young and old and to be worn in any number of occasions.
How many pairs of shoes do most people own ? Therefore getting a basic design shape that is adaptable to a hundred straps - including those from Griffin no doubt - is a balancing act.

Personally, I think it will be the ' silent communicator' winks, nudges, heartbeats etc. that will set it apart from the others and will have it selling like hotcakes.

I'm trying to figure out if you're being serious, or you're doing an extremely clever caricature of Apple's more extreme fans as part of a sarcastic statement.

Honestly what do you expect lol it's macrumors, apple fans are members here.

Also, I cannot agree enough with you on the moto x, it's stylish and practical, and overall just a really nice watch experience. The watch isnt as customizable, so I have to give apple kudos there, but otherwise the apple watch looks like garbage.

What do you mean not as customizable? its more customizable that the apple watch. and comes with more watch faces right out of the gate and you can customize the watch faces too.

Moto X destroys the Apple Watch in every way possible.
Design. Material Quality. Simplistic but in interface.
better OS, Functionality and finally Google Now completely destroys it.

I mean look at this then look at apple disgrace of a watch. its night and day.

So true. This to me also felt like anti-apple. Granted this is the first time they are making a wearable so fashion comes into play but I still would have preferred 2-3 choices at the most.
