You are joking right? That demo only proved how clunky and confusing the UI was ... Nothing like an Apple product should be. Sorry, but in no way (price, design or functionality) can anyone justify this monstrosity ... Let alone say its a better proposition to most watches out there from Moto, LG and Samsung!!!

Well, all the UI's on smart watches so far are horrible. And for the first time even Apple doesn't seem to have solved this problem.

Except that Apple products always, always look better in the flesh and Samsung products always turn out to look cheap and nasty!
The doubters always come out every time. I'm sure plenty of you said the iPad was a "giant phone" at the time of the original release.

I love the design which will inevitably get better over each generation. Having instant interchangeable wrists, that have different types and a unique charging mechanism is a technical dream; let alone getting started on the software.

I'm going to have to see them to gain an opinion. I love my swatch watches and pretty open minded to try the Apple Watch. Apple have to replace the dipping sales of iPods / iPod Touches for another product. This is it.

Anyway, Samsung who?

You'd be amazed at how the right technology can change people's attitudes towards health though. A few years back my work started handing out free Nike Fuel bands and then set up a company leader board. All of a sudden nearly all two hundred staff members were signing up for gym memberships and posting instagram pics of their running routes.

With the right implementation and an easy to access social element you can get the laziest people exercising, it's why things like weight watchers are so successful and Apple know this.

This is true, but still not enough. More people need fuelband type gadgets "forced" into their lifestyles imho.

Fast forward one year...

...and let's see how many haters are wearing an :apple:Watch.

I remember all the bashing and negative comments when Apple introduced the iPad. "What a useless device." "Apple has lost it." "Not the same Apple." And then it shipped. And shipped. And shipped. A device no one needed or asked for.

Let's see in a few months how many are wearing :apple:Watches and whether or not Apple has pulled a rabbit out of it's hat.

No it was incredibly fluid and intuitive.

In your opinion. The Moto 360 and Samsung attempts are only trying to fit a smartphone in a watch. At least Apple has recognised the key features of a watch making this piss-easy to use (rotary dial + button mix).

Lol, I agree, they should be mandatory from birth with more condescending messages built in that really target the self esteem for those who don't comply with a healthy lifestyle.

Steve would not have added so many SKUs to anything. He understood what a trim and easy to understand product line up is. Apple of today are slowly losing the ability to understand this.

I really wanted it to have integrated GPS so I could stop running with my iPhone. Other sports watches have this, so...not sure why they left it out.

The step-tracking stuff never seems accurate enough at all, and if I still have to have my iPhone (now an even BIGGER phone) strapped to my arm, what's the point?

That's my single thought on this. Although I really appreciate the heart monitor, I really wish they made it more independent of the iPhone. I mean it doesn't really make sense. Do I need a Mac because I have an iPhone? Do I need an iPad because I have a Mac? These products should be able to operate independently not dependently.

If a device is 50m resistant, I'd call that waterproof tbh. Most water resistant watches break inside swimming pools. The ones that don't are always called waterproof.

LOL, have you any idea how deep is 50m?

You are missing the point. Everyone's saying they hate the design, that's the biggest Apple's selling point. This watch is just horrible. When the iPad was introduced people critiziced the functionality, not the design.

I am reminded when the iPad was introduced, people laughed at it, saying it was just a big iPhone. And laughed at the name. And we know how that story ended up.

I am intrigued by the Watch. Not sold. Just curious. I need to know battery life, and how far the phone can be away from the watch to still pair. Responding to text while driving would be handy though, since it's illegal here to use phones while driving.

It will go the way of Beats. When someone with class sees someone wearing crappy overpriced headphones, they pity them, not envy them.

People with true class don't pass judgement like that on others. They simply wear things they like and enjoy.

It didn't seem "piss easy" from the demo. I'm watching the videos where people are demoing it right now and it just does not seems intuitive.

The Moto 360 UI is pretty good in my opinion. Most people are being arm chair critics on all of these devices. People have to use them to know if they're worth it. I hope that they do provide some benefit.

What is with the horrible font choice? If you told me this was an Apple device I wouldn't believe you.
