I'll set some expectations as well. There is always something better on the horizon. None of of us can say, for certain, that we'll make to said horizon. Recommend living in the now while you can. Enjoy, while you can. Or always be waiting. #options

It’s not got any detail, and the picture doesn’t really look like an iPhone, but I feel confident this is in reference to the Apple event :)

Hmm... A colorful picture. What i understand from that picture is iPhone 12 is coming because of the colours on it. But the phone on the picture is not an iPhone 12.

I think they will send you a new e-mail very soon and will offer pre-order this time. 🙂

I am sure it’s just a ‘generic’ smartphone pic at this point, but like you suggest @murad_fourth there will be follow ups that are undoubtedly iPhone.

I always buy my phones from Apple directly these days...

I bought a MacBook Pro a little over a month ago and it took a little over a week to arrive from China. I *wanted* an Intel Mac because I'm a platform developer and want to run x64 windows in a VM. Not something that I think you'll be able to do on an Apple Silicon MacBook AFAIK and they've been circumspect about it.

I bought the MacBook Air to replace an aging MacBook that is used for household things like budgeting, documentation, music.... that'd be fine using Apple Silicon. I'm weighing cancelling the order...

Then again, the MacBook Pro has an issue waking up from sleep and crashing that seems to be plaguing a lot of people with 2019 MacBook Pro 16" and 2020 MacBooks and it looks like it may be an Intel issue.
About an Hour after my previous post I received the notification that the Air had shipped. No indication from China, but from Pennsylvania.

Apologies for not reading all 19 pages. Did anyone point out that this puts the presentation right in the middle of Prime Day? It’s manageable but not ideal.

Even I'm getting confused with the iPhone line-up! 'Choice' is fine but choice for the sake of it just leads to confusion.... and needless... especially when a new 'iPhone' is realised every single year.

Why can't we just have iPhone 12 Mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max.

I don’t have an “original post.”

I’ve never had the pleasure, but I can see how it would be easy to spend $5,000+ in an Apple Store.

Carry on.

Sorry, see you were not the OP I was originally quoting. Either way the point is completely invalid. Unless the stock doubles in price, you can't expect to invest the original price and then go purchase the same gear with the profits.

No, you buy after the stock drops from the aftereffects of overhype (happens every single event) and then you sell when it bounces back after everyone realizes Apple is going to make a killing off the new products. (happens every single time).

Yes, I get that, but unless it doubles in value from the drop to the bounce, you will not have enough profits to cover your purchase. At best you'll make a modest increase which will cover 20% of the purchase at most. To suggest someone can just invest the money on the drop and sell on the bounce will double their investment is ludicrous.

Nah, I was thinking of this as more of a tongue in cheek comment, not literally take your iPhone 12 money and buy 10 shares of stock instead. 🙄

Humm just had a thought... could the apple event invite also hint at the rumoured magnet set up inside the iPhone 12 and on the official cases? 🤔 just a thought.

Someone at Apple is a James Turrell fan. Glad they're expanding beyond Dieter Rams. Full disclosure: big fan of both.

The first thing that comes to mind with "Hi, Speed" is an Apple Car, but I would be very surprised if they could pull that off after a long time with no rumors...

They have AppleCare and Apple Card, maybe it wouldn't be too hard for them to drop that last letter and introduce Apple Car. :)

If I was to buy one of these it would be the mini as I hate large phones. I’m very happy with my SE 2020 though and see no reason to upgrade. The mini however will be a huge success in my opinion as it combines small size with a modern display which I’m sure a lot of people will be looking for.

I wish it was the old time at 3:01am EST. I never had a problem getting a launch day device at that time. I have too much going on at 8am EST to preorder so I have to be careful.
This is why I don't understand why they moved the time. Did they ever give a reason? I don't start until 930 so I am ok, but others may already be at work or on the way. And I'd rather have it 3AM Eastern and just have diehards setting alarms ordering than competing with the general public
