Most of the time I'm super positive about there products, But I don't believe in this service?
Less is more right? I think that the Adidas training app and Nike app are already far ahead of them. Why would people pay extra money to work-out with this service, why most people already have a subscription for a gym?

As someone who does NO exercise at all... I'm actually excited for this!

Especially since it's $30 per month for all the subscription stuff!
Same except there is no mention of how it works if you already have a piece through someone else. We have AM through VZW so if they do the same as Disney and discount that piece from the bundle price, we might consider Premier for F+

This looks rather cool, I would subscribe. But... not available in my country. Why? Because it’s in English? I do understand fitness lingo including up, down, 1 more, way to go and ... you’re a champion!

As a personal trainer I’m laughing too. Apple is selling entertainment, not results. But you get what you pay for I guess.

Anyone serious about fitness needs some sort of facilities like a public or private gym (even your own garage) and optionally a trainer supervising your exercise, whether in person at a distance or over a video call.

These virtual classes are mass market programs with no accountability and results for most will be far and few. Not all, but most, given the average person’s level of commitment.

I won’t even touch nutrition...which is 90% of the fitness equation.

The biggest issue is that this doesn't include first person perspective activities. You couldn't pay me to have someone tell me I am doing a great job when they can't even see me. And I don't know what you charge, but personal trainers here are not very cheap. There is a huge gap between the $10 a month and $20 a workout.

Ooh which gym do you know that costs $10. That’s the bargain of the century ????

You are SO wrong. Move on
Some gyms like Planet Fitness have $9.99/mo, but you need to watch for the deal where they waive the joining fee. And at least with F+ all I need to do to cancel is goto Subs and tap cancel. None of this garbage of being able to cancel a gym sub "without orders – signed in triplicate, sent in, sent back, queried, lost, found, subjected to public inquiry, lost again, and finally buried in soft peat for three months and recycled as firelighters."

Price is not bad, but I am a swimmer and occasional spinning bike rider. I don't think this service is for me.
I agree. The price wouldn't be an issue for me. But like you...I'm a swimmer. My wife is into yoga though, so this will probably appeal to her.

However, the one aspect that makes it a little appealing to me is that swimming season is basically coming to an end. We're getting to the point in the year where it's not quite warm enough to use my pool, and once Illinois winter sets in, it's a definite no go 😂 The indoor pool at my gym is open, but at the time of day I would be able to go (after work), it will be at capacity per COVID guidelines. Fitness+ might just give me something to do this winter aside from jogging.

Apparently I get 3 months of this free with my new Apple Watch so will give it a spin. My local YMCA hasn't re-opened since COVID and I've set myself up with a bike trainer at home, so this might be useful to me this winter.

In this season of covid-19, not all gyms are open in all municipalities. And even for those that ARE open, should there be a rise in the spread, gyms could be closed again.

Do those other apps integrate with video workouts the way that it appears the Apple Watch does? Considering that those apps have already been out and Fitness+ is new, it is reason able to expect that they would be "far ahead" of them.

hahahah I prefer to use the Nike training apps which are free to use! But I'm looking forward to this new apple service and see how turns out.

That makes Sense!

  • For those not reading between the lines of why Apple are getting into Fitness+... Apple will try to acquire Peloton next year.
  • In the next 3 years, all the Peloton equipment (now Apple equipment) that have screens will become dockable iPads/iPad Pros. There will also be a larger version than the existing iPad Pro.
  • When Apple acquire Peloton + have Fitness+ subscriptions, this will disrupt the physicial gym membership business because many will prefer to workout at home rather than the gym.

I wonder if the fitness display monitoring would beam to a Samsung TV via the non-native Apple TV app. Or whether this would have to be done via AirPlay.

I charge $50 a session in the Central Valley and $90 in LA area.

Trainers aren’t and shouldn’t be cheap. They provide very personalized services and one on one attention. It’s definitely a luxury service.
