My gym membership costs more per month than Fitness + costs for a year.Good luck sir !! Can't wait to hear your experience.

The gym I use (Lifetime Fitness) I’m currently paying $90/month.Isn't Planet Fitness just $10/month?
You're correct that I don't go to gyms, but if they cost much more than that, I'd wonder why more people don't just buy their own equipment? At $700/year, you can pretty easily buy yourself a new piece of gym equipment each year.
I've lost 20 pounds since starting Peloton Power Zones and have improved my muscles/toned my body. I'm not dropping Peloton for Fitness+ but it's silly to make the elitist argument you are presenting. I'm sure you would make that argument due to your career and bias though. As a personal trainer I’m laughing too. Apple is selling entertainment, not results. But you get what you pay for I guess.
Anyone serious about fitness needs some sort of facilities like a public or private gym (even your own garage) and optionally a trainer supervising your exercise, whether in person at a distance or over a video call.
These virtual classes are mass market programs with no accountability and results for most will be far and few. Not all, but most, given the average person’s level of commitment.
I won’t even touch nutrition...which is 90% of the fitness equation.
English speaking countries are not located in the same spot as your country, so gravity and angle of the sun will be different. So jumps might be done wrong, and it might be pitch black in your living room. All of these things can lead to serious injuries! This looks rather cool, I would subscribe. But... not available in my country. Why? Because it’s in English? I do understand fitness lingo including up, down, 1 more, way to go and ... you’re a champion!
What town do you live in where a gym membership costs $10/month?$10/month is what a gym membership costs. That gets you all the equipment. This does not.
Comparable videos are freely available on YouTube, or you can pay $10 to buy comparable videos on DVD.
How is it that this isn't just part of Apple TV+? Apple TV+ is majorly lacking in content - throwing this in would do a bit to fix that...

My guess is Apple will eventually launch audio-only workouts on this platform designed for runners who want to escape the treadmill.Hmm, nothing for outdoor running, that's odd. I'll stick with Charge Running for the extra $5.
Here's a question: This service will likely launch the day of Thanksgiving (need to work off that giant dinner, right?). They mentioned those who buy a new Apple Watch get three months free.
I just ordered a new Apple Watch S6. Will I still get my free three months of Fitness+?

UPDATE: Just read the fine print: Starting September 15, customers who purchase an Apple Watch Series 3 or later will be able to start with three months of Apple Fitness+ free. The offer can be redeemed on your iPhone once Apple Fitness+ is available later this year. Your iPhone and Apple Watch will need to be updated to the latest OS, and you’ll have three months to claim the offer after the first activation of the eligible device.1
Because a tiny apartment in NYC, Hong Kong or any other metropolitan city will easily accommodate that. Neighbors will be so happy too.Isn't Planet Fitness just $10/month?

It wouldn’t be just language - all of the launch countries have much higher Apple Marketshare than Germany, especially Apple TV. Amazon dominates the TV space in Germany. So far this is the only thing I was excited about, but unfortunately it’s not coming to Germany. Don’t understand it, as the workouts in english wouldn’t be a problem for most of the people 🤬
and lose some kilograms tooI had to check your profile to see if you are British.
I bet $700 per year includes training sessions with an actual instructor, which is obviously better than a pre recorded video.Isn't Planet Fitness just $10/month?

I’m assuming you are looking for an audio solution for outdoor running. I think all of these workout videos should include audio counterparts too which would then add additional workouts like outdoor running, rowing and swimming.Hmm, nothing for outdoor running, that's odd. Then how do you explain Peleton’s surge in sales, stock and popularity during the pandemic? Apple is clearly going after Peleton by leveraging the hardware customers already have and then undercutting Peleton’s pricing. During a pandemic, no gyms are open and many have already shut down. The real and virtual trainer market has exploded but it cannot possibly scale and keep up with demand the way prerecorded videos can deliver.Watch them drop the price in a few months/a year .... it's inevitable...
This is one of those times where Apple has their head up their.... u kno...
(EDIT: aww, don't want to make anyone angry... I mean exclusively with the price, it's too much... the actual idea is great and anything that gets people more fit and healthy or pushes them towards it is a positive. But with this price I wonder how many will not feel incentivized.)
You don’t sound like you understand typical Apple customers to me. If they wanted to deal with YouTube ads, DVDs and COVID gyms, to save a buck, they would already be using an Android device.$10/month is what a gym membership costs. That gets you all the equipment. This does not.

I agree but I hope Apple expands these videos a lot. If I’m paying for pre-recorded videos, I expect regularly updated content so that I’m not watching the same video twice in one week.At first I wanted to hate this idea.
But this is going after those who need group classes at the gym that can’t go because of covid.
It might be surprisingly popular.
Millions of people live in cities and areas where the weather is too hot or cold or smoky (wildfires all month) to exercise safely outdoors. Peleton had an amazing year for these reasons as well as covid so you’re overlooking a large base of potential users. My God. Anybody who pays that over a regular road bike, turbo trainer and Zwift/Sufferfest only has themselves to blame. Utterly stupid money.
Do you also laugh at fitness rings? Simple fitness implementations like this have improved the lives and health of millions of users. Apple is not trying to replace trainers but trainers cannot possibly scale to meet the needs of millions of users. And just wait until they introduce AI trainers. They will put most real trainers out of work for good.As a personal trainer I’m laughing too. Apple is selling entertainment, not results. But you get what you pay for I guess.

That's a good point. There's also a strong chance Apple eventually plans metrics based workouts like Power zones.I would say that dedicating the effort to a power zone plan in peloton is exactly what he is talking about. It is formulated to offer measurable results as opposed to logging into random work outs when you feel like it on apple fitness+. Not 100% agreeing with his point, but your success with power zones could be attributed with the psych studies behind the power of simply clipping into a class. Less risk of quitting once you're clipped in.
And I’m sure you’d argue that Peloton is the best invention ever because of your consumer bias. Works both ways. 😏I've lost 20 pounds since starting Peloton Power Zones and have improved my muscles/toned my body. I'm not dropping Peloton for Fitness+ but it's silly to make the elitist argument you are presenting. I'm sure you would make that argument due to your career and bias though.
