Looks better than I imagined. Will be interesting to touch the inner screen to see if they did indeed resolve my biggest complaint about most foldables - the terrible hand-feel of the inner screen because of the irregular backing behind most such devices. I do expect the hinge area of the screen to experience issues just based on the physics of what happens when you constantly fold and unfold plastics - not to mention glass. But for most people, myself included, it really only needs to survive 2-3 years, before it will get traded in and replaced with the latest and greatest model.

I hate that name. Iphone duo. How uninspiring. And the design looks just like samsung galaxy z fold 8. So 6 years late to the foldable train and it looks so boring for $2200. And too many compromises. Hard pass. Sorry

Did you even watch the presentation? Looks nothing like the Fold 8 other than similar aspect ratios. And it’s $1999.

I get the same vibe as when the AVP was launched - fun/cute contraption with impressive hardware, but I don't understand what the use case is.

I like the concept of this phone and the execution of the software seems on point. I am not really sure why I would get one if I were shopping for a new iPhone today. The Pro models seemingly offer the better hardware at a lower price, so it is purely about the screen size. 80% over Pro and 50% over Pro Max, though I wonder who thinks a Pro Max is too small. Beyond these reasonable thoughts, it has the wow factor - for an iPhone. I've seen foldables in the wild for years so that wow factor has lost some edge. I am curious what the market share will be in five years, compared to other iPhone models. Surely it will stay niche, but I bet it will sell just fine for Apple. At least you can't say Apple doesn't have a foldable anymore, that's something.

Even if I wanted this for the folded size, the weight is beyond a non starter.

Andddd just like I thought. Apple rolls a foldable, suddenly it's not as "useless" or "solution in search of a problem" as everyone said.

Most of those of us saying that stopped saying it the moment the Z fold 8 came out with a format that actually made sense. And no Apple has brought out the finished version.

Oh neat, a foldable iPhone catering only to right-handed people. "We've moved all these controls to the right edge, to be within easy reach of your thumb" - yeah, if you're holding it in your right hand. Left-handed? Sucks to be you.

It’s software and the hardware can be rotated 180 degrees. Only thing keeping it from being a lefty-friendly device would be Apple not allowing that for some reason. Which could go either way knowing them 😆.

Silly rabbit, technically it has 3, because of the foldable design. You can open up the phone to take ultrawide shots with the internal selfie camera. They demoed it in the keynote.
