No mention of wireless charging... not sure if it will fit in my car's wireless charger either. I won't go back to a wired CarPlay connection, wired charging, or TouchID ... so first gen a little disappointing in that regard, maybe second gen.

I am surprised Apple went with the "Duo" name. Microsoft's Surface Duo "foldable phone" didn't do well but hopefully Apple's iPhone Duo will fare much better.

Don’t like the reimagined iOS it comes with 😕
That's probably the best bit. This is the first time in a long while anyone has actually made any efforts to make a mobile OS more usable on a larger display, ironically on a smaller display.

Undoubtedly its a lovely piece of hardware and offers a mostly premium experience. But look past the product design for a second and its still just an iPhone that turns into a bigger iPhone. It doesn't run iPad apps. Doesn't have a desktop display mode. For $350 more than the Samsung Z Fold 8 is completely lacks any of its utility which IMO is the biggest selling point.

Oh neat, a foldable iPhone catering only to right-handed people. "We've moved all these controls to the right edge, to be within easy reach of your thumb" - yeah, if you're holding it in your right hand. Left-handed? Sucks to be you.
I mean, do lefties not have a right thumb?

Its does have a crease despite the videos not showing. The guy talking about the Nano texture layer stated it helps to “minimise the crease”. Overall looks really good, they finally made a foldable. Will sell out on release, but Amazon should do their usual 10% discount making the price more palatable.

When the price doesn’t affect the purchase. I knew it was going to be good. Well done apple. Well done

Did they mention promotion? So is it 60hz for the display or?
EDIT: Okay found it: "The displays also feature ProMotion, Always On, and 3000 nits of peak outdoor brightness."

I still don't think I have a great use case for one and really was 100% not interested before the demonstration. And now I sort of want it... except I still don't think I'd actually want to hold a device like that unfolded all the time - and then that front screen feels too small (I'm a Pro Max user). It feels plenty big for quick things, but for bigger use, it wouldn't suffice... and then the inside feels like it would be too big. That said... I loved the presentation and the look and while I don't think I'd want it Gen 1 any way (per typical Apple rules on new form factors), it did hook me enough that I at least considered it in my mind for a moment. I don't need to spend that kind of money right now anyway. Ha. It is beautiful, and I actually love how iOS looks and works on it. But... not this year. Maybe in 2 years once I've had a chance to handle one some and decide whether I'd really want to use that sort of form factor
