This is clearly an under-the-hood update. I suspect iOS 9 will be smooth as butter and get Apple's reputation back online. Apple needed to refine the OS for stability, speed, security, and user experience. I believe this iOS update will be widely praised across the tech industry.

It doesn't have many presents...but Apple needed to focus on overall user experience and fluidity...I believe that is what they are accomplishing this year.

What was with the graphical "phone" Craig was using to display things....it looked like a Nokia, not a iPhone (squared off corners etc.).

Those of us with 16GB devices (I got a 16GB iPad Air 2) will appreciate you just need 1.6GB to upgrade versus 4.X or more. No more deleting a bunch of apps and content just to do an OS upgrade. That was probably the biggest pain in the butt for those of us who don't really need a ton of space and want to save money.

  • Original iPad Air from just 1 year ago already doesn't support multitasking?
  • iPhone 4S supports iOS 9: will it be faster than iOS 8? I find that hard to believe, but then what's the point?

This keynote was probably more enjoyable for Developers who are mostly concerned with the upcoming directives in software, than for consumers wanting a preview of the 2016 product line.

Oh well.

Wow, there was literally "nothing to see, here" for me with this Keynote.

Even the iPad "multitasking" is lame and limiting the device it can work on is yet another reason why I will NEVER, EVER buy another iPad again.

I keep peeking at Apple to see something I'd like but I keep having to shrug my shoulders and walk away.

Isn't that the presenter remote control they use to control the slides?

We're still missing the feature that lets the user set their default apps so they don't have all their web pages opening in Safari or maps links going to Apple Maps and such if the user prefers something else.
"nearly", I didn't say all!

Aside from customizations, and setting default apps...we're pretty much caught up to Android.

I really like the split screen feature and the whole being able to watch a video while doing something else such as using Pages or Safari will be very helpful, very happy Apple have decided to do this, and so glad I decided to update my iPad when the Air 2 came out.

I'm also thinking the reason Apple have done this is because of a bigger iPad Pro (or whatever the name is) possibly in October.

For me probably the most underwhelming WWDC so far. Connect is like a version of Ping and Ping failed. Radio might work but I am not sure how heavy it will be on data usage, which is phone companies' favorite ambush. Personally not convinced by the streaming deal. I spend something like $3/month on music. They also skimmed through El Capitan and iOS 9.

About time they got multitasking. Macrumors, can you please go back to the old posting/thread style, this new style sucks.

Ram...Air 2 has 2GB.

The new iPhones this fall will have 2GB...so expect it then.

If you had access to iTunes, you never needed to delete anything. Just plug your phone into your PC or MAC and update.
