This is clearly an under-the-hood update. I suspect iOS 9 will be smooth as butter and get Apple's reputation back online. Apple needed to refine the OS for stability, speed, security, and user experience. I believe this iOS update will be widely praised across the tech industry.
It doesn't have many presents...but Apple needed to focus on overall user experience and fluidity...I believe that is what they are accomplishing this year.
- Original iPad Air from just 1 year ago already doesn't support multitasking?
- iPhone 4S supports iOS 9: will it be faster than iOS 8? I find that hard to believe, but then what's the point?
I'm excited for the new, proactive Siri to automatically create calendar events based on invitations I haven't accepted yet.
Ram...Air 2 has 2GB.
The new iPhones this fall will have 2GB...so expect it then.
So does Siri know what room I am in? Kitchen, gym, etc...
Did I hear correctly that the Siri translation is done on the phone?
And the News app which replaces newstand.
Agreed. Most underwhelming keynote I've ever seen Apple put on. Really uninspiring. For me at least, this was the most uneventful key note that i have experienced. Pretty much brings no excitement at all. Too many other free music services to choose from, we always get the IOS and OSX enhancements, blah blah.
I love how users in this Forum were crying for Apple to focus on performance and stability for iOS 9 and not add any new features and all I see are a bunch of spoiled little brats crying about how the NEW handful of features added in iOS 9 are "going to my trash folder", "should have been added in a .1 release".![]()
iBeacons maybe????...... Or through home kit. Apple breezed over that today
It could be more subtle than that, I suppose. If you're on your home Wi-Fi, your phone should know you're home. CarPlay is the obvious choice for "in your car reminders"iBeacons maybe????...... Or through home kit. Apple breezed over that today
Same excuse for Siri yet hackers back-ported Siri to older iOS versions.
If that's all you see you aren't looking very hard.
Has Apple lost its mojo?
Ohh.. And where was the AppleTV with an app store... Still missing

agreed, almost all the features, android is ok for my tablet, i prefer the bare basics of the nexus 7, however, i abhor the bloatware on the samsung iteration of android. I also quite liked the sony experia slates.Apple! APPLE! OMG! You did it!
Android, who? We have nearly ALL of their features now! BOOM!
