This is the ugliest iPhone I’ve ever seen. How many cameras does a phone need? If you need a powerful camera, buy a camera. This is getting ridiculous. Next iPhone will have all cameras on the back. Maybe they can put one on each corner so at least the phone won’t wobble when it’s on a table.

my iPhone 6s will be the last iPhone I buy unless I get a used 7 or 8. I don’t like the direction Apple is heading and I’ve already sold my MacBook Pro and Apple TV 4K. It’s a nice feeling finally being free’d from the Apple ecosystem.

I'll admit I'm kinda irritated about not being able to use my iPhone to wirelessly charge my AirPods. I thought that was the point of the longer battery life? Guess they need something to get people to upgrade next year. Makes me think the notch isn't going anywhere in 2020.
Rumor is it wasn't very efficient so they scrapped it.

Next year was always going to be the big upgrade anyways.

Too many different product names. 8, XR, 11, 11 PRO, 11 PRO MAX. Just absolutely ridiculous. These people should be the best of the best, the best that money can buy. That kind of naming convention wouldn't get a passing grade in a high school business course.

Plus they're ugly.

Guess its time to upgrade my 6s (battery life measured in minutes)

First time I'll have bought on launch day, too

So the old Xs and Xs Max weighted 177g and 208g while the new Pro models weigh 188g and 226g. Was hoping for a little lighter Max but guess the bigger battery and frosted glass is heavier. Also bigger in size.

Meanwhile the iPhone 11 weighs and measures exactly like the iPhone Xr

  • 4 hours more battery life
  • 30% more screen brightness and double the contrast with HDR10
  • quadruple the field of view in videos and photos
  • dual camera videos
  • 50% larger video sensor
  • Can practically take photos in the dark
  • 30% faster FaceID that works at more angles and larger distances
  • 20% faster CPU and GPU
  • Dolby Atmos
Yeah pretty insignificant upgrade.
Just incremental updates, and nothing not already seen (better) on Android phones. Where is the innovation?

- no notch, yes, you got it right, NO NOTCH
- gorgeous super-smooth 90MHz super high resolution full screen OLED display
- 12GB of RAM
- great battery + super fast USB-C charging
- great camera
- great OS with very logical gestures and layout
- constant software updates
- and yes, 1/2 price of an iPhone

Notch is a non issue, iOS doesn’t need 12 GB of RAM because it’s more efficient, last generation’s Apple processors are two years ahead of anything Android, iOS 13 runs on 4 year old phones. You will never get that longevity from an Android phone. New OS equals new phone with Android.

Well I will be missing this update, was hoping for reversed wireless charging, not enough for me to upgrade.

I did wonder if the trade in was to push sales if they were struggling?

The best camera is the one you have with you. I have pro camera gear but it's only with me when I need it whereas my phone is always with me.
